Pictures!!
Thursday, December 21st, 2006 11:38 pmWell here's some pictures of my Christmas present! I got this one today.
I got Kira's brother! The breeder contacted me on Wednesday. I had emailed her months ago before we got Tucker to see about getting a merle Cardigan. I've always wanted one. She said they had one they were going to give up. But after a month went by without hearing from her, I started liking the idea of a Pembroke and researched and fell in love with Tucker's breeder. I just loved how they raised their puppies. Then he was available and available and available and we were looking at passing on him and waiting another 2 months for the next litter. Then I thought, well let's just go look at their puppies. But, of course, Matt says if we're going to look we might as well get him. He's not a good window shopper. Which is awesome. I mean one of the reasons I married him was because he wanted to have a herd of German Shepherds. That fit right in with what I wanted to do as far as having a farm full of dogs. So we get Tucker, of course. And he's just the sweetest dog ever. It took a while for him to really grow on me, but he's definitely my sweet, sweet baby. I love him.
Well Wednesday, Kira's breeder contacts me. She attaches two pictures of Kira's brother and offers him to me. I thought there was no way we'd get this dog. But I just had to ask just one time. I figured Matt would say "No way. We already have two dogs. We don't need three." But he said "You should get him." So we did.

Date: 2006-12-22 05:15 am (UTC)We gave our kitty a full name! Her name is Abigail Reid Turner (but we call her Abby for short) (or Abby Dabby Doo). I'm glad to know that we're not the only ones who give their pets full names.
Pretty doggies!

Date: 2006-12-22 05:47 am (UTC)And of course Connor McLeod is a highlander and he's a merle corgi. I'd always said if I got a merle Cardigan Corgi that I'd name him Connor. And Charlie is what the breeder was going to call him. After her uncle, Charleston, which I liked. And my mom's married name is Browne. She joked about naming my brother Charlie Browne. So I liked it. And we're Whites. lol
Nicknames are good too! Kira is Kiki like Kiki's Delivery Service. She loves Miyazaki. If I say his name, she gets really riled up. And Tucker is TuckTuck or Derka Derka Derka (said really fast and high pitched).
My husband's German Shepherd was named Riker. I gave him tons of nicknames: Cracker, Jingle Bells, Girl, Pretty Boy, Buddy. He answered to them too. Miss that dog.

Date: 2006-12-23 04:36 am (UTC)I'm doing good. I'm really happy with my puppy doggies! And we may have a fourth dog within the next two years. A friend of ours is going to breed their German Shepherd which is my husband's favorite breed.
But doing good. Still haven't finished my Christmas cards though. Doh! Gotta finish those up.

And way to procrastinate! lol But that's ok, I just finished Christmas shopping last night. :)

Date: 2006-12-23 05:10 pm (UTC)My husband's favorite breed. His German Shepherd passed away in August which is when we started looking for another dog. My girl was pouty and sad all day. She'd mope around the house. And my husband is happy because the boys we've gotten are very sweet and lovey. Unlike my girl who is aloof with him.
Still not finished with my cards! I'm just resigned to the fact that they will be late.
