BSG and Asthma
Friday, May 16th, 2008 09:41 pmI really enjoy watching tv/movie asthma. It is always so obvious that the writers have never had asthma. They just needed to give a character some sort of difficult-but-not-deadly flaw to hold 'em back. Not only do I have asthma, but I am also very allergic to dust mites. When I had my allergen test, the spot on my arm where dust mites had been tested was sore for seven days. It was warm to the touch for three days. So when I clean, I have to wear a dust/allergen mask. The combination of asthma and dust mask + moving around to clean = I CANNOT BREATHE!!!! I usually avoid vacuuming for this reason. Also our vacuum cleaner gets full of dog hair after one pass. I broke out last cleaner that had a removable tray. So vacuuming involves changing the bag at least once every two rooms. More walking always helps with the asthma. Of course, I then get extremely light headed and have to rest to catch my breath. It is very tiring work. Kind of like cross country running in a long winter coat.
Battlestar Galactica is another show like Lost. I enjoy watching it, but the more I watch the closer I get to the end. Listening to the soundtrack doesn't help things! However, I can't help myself. I enjoy the optimistic melancholy music. Also I am a sucker for bag pipes and the celtic pipe.
