Debate Filter
Saturday, December 22nd, 2007 03:35 amWell I've kind of tossed this idea around trying to find a solution that I enjoy. I totally understand that a lot of folks go to their LJ for fun, not debate. Most folks friended me for such reasons.
So I've decided that rather than just throw myself out there, I'll make a new filter. This way both sides can come prepared.
Thus the Debate Filter is born. I will actually be thinking of it more as an Apologetics Filter. (The term apologetics comes from the Greek apologia, which means "defense" or "answer." Apologetics is the task of defending a particular idea or belief system and answering its critics. The origin of the concept of apologetics lies in the beginnings of Christianity.)
There will be a few rules. Even though it will be an answer type format, it will still be my journal--meaning I will be moderator. That doesn't mean "Boom! I win!" It just means that if I think a topic is getting out of control or a response is over the top, I will screen it or delete it altogether.
So if you're up for joining, let me know and I'll sign you up.
