Date: 2006-04-08 12:59 am (UTC)I heard of HMC last year at the Anime Expo (AX!) when i went. It was in theaters there and we were going t ogo but i had to catch a flight so i missed it then. I was in Walmart one day and THERE IS WAS!! xD I squeed in the store, making people look at me oddly. I think they were going to take me and kick me out cus i walked around the store petting it for a while. *giggles* I told a friend about it in e-mail. I knew he would love it. He emaisl back saying "Sure, i'll give it a go. I loved the princess one" I told him to see Spirited away too. Next thing i know, 3 hours later he emails saying he loves HMC and is on his 2ed play. 3 hours after that he writes saying he's going out to get Spirited away. Next day he gives me a report on that too...
I love converting people to Miyazaki fans :D!!!!!!!!!

Date: 2006-04-08 01:45 am (UTC)Nausicaa was my original foray into Miyazaki. I always loved it, but it was a friend's fan translation so of course I knew I had no hope of finding it. And I tried to figure out what it was years later (after we graduated and parted ways. I think she lives in Japan or lived there for a while.) so I'm glad to finally have it. Good movie. But then again it is Miyazaki. I don't remember why I first watched Spirited Away, but... LOVE! It's so awesome.
Your friend sounds awesome for rushing out and renting that. So cool.
Hopefully I can squee tomorrow when I buy my copy of HMC.
