Oh the cuteness of having a puppy! We need a camera so we can start capturing it. It's just great stuff.

Last night she chewed through her harness and chewed the tiny jingle bell off of her identification collar. I put it with her id. And we've already bought her a replacement harness. An extra small one for right now and a small for when she grows a little bigger. We're also looking into getting some hay for the big dog who likes to run up and down the fence in the morning with the neighbor's dogs. The neighbor doesn't care that he runs up and down the fence, but he comes inside with muddy, muddy paws.

The cuteness update:

Last night Riker and Kira played together for the first time. He was lying still, letting her nip at his nose. Then he would reciprocate, but when he nipped at her nose, he took her entire muzzle into his mouth. She'd sit there with this perplexed look on her face.

He also laid on the floor and tried to entice her into playing with him. It was cute to see him just lying in front of the puppy, 5 times as big as her.

She was really hyper when we got home and he played with her and chased her around and wore her out until she took a nap.

He also was puppy whining at her. Usually she's the one puppy whining and barking, but last night he was doing it.

We can definitely trust him with her. He's not even food aggressive. Yesterday she was running to his food dish, stealing one of his huge pieces of dog food (as compared to her mouth), crunking it down and when he'd run over to see what she was doing, she'd crawl under the bed which has about a 4-5 inch clearance, wait until he left and then run back to his bowl. He never attacked her.

This morning we were getting ready to leave and she wandered into the living room and found Riker's stocking. It was full of doggie goodies. We weren't sure about food aggression yet with him. He's had some real issues with that in the past. Including chomping my mom's finger and growling at me when Matt put some ham into his kibble. (Riker and I had a fight about that. I punched him. But don't feel bad for him because he's nearly as big as I am. And we've made up now that we know who is the leader of the pack between the two of us.) But he's fine with the puppy. Anyway, the puppy was dragging this stocking full of stuff and bigger than her down the hallway. When she saw us, she turned around and started taking it into the kitchen. It was adorable.

Other adorable moments were when they were sleeping right next to each other.

We got up early today so we could eat lunch with my brother before he left town. He decided he wasn't going to come because he was going to go out with his friends. But he didn't call to say so. Oh well. Little brothers. What are you going to do? I'm still cross about it, but family is more important than fuming over a missed lunch date. And we went out with my mom and sister all the same. Even had a chance to look for Matt's missing video game which he has promised to someone else.

I have had some major bladder issues today. All that sweet tea and water. Ah well. Maybe it's not as bad as I imagined.

I finally made it to 30 in WoW last night! And Clay got a Murky for Christmas! It is the cutest thing!!!

My Ipod has its first scratch on the screen. It bothers me to look at, but I guess I'll get over it.

Positive things for today:

1) I got Christmas pictures from my friend. They are very cute. Maybe our dogs could visit.

2) I had a nice lunch with family.

3) I am inside and not out in the thunder and rain.

4) God never gives us more than we can handle, but sometimes we need to go to Him to get through it.

5) Seaquest DSV is on DVD!

I'm too sleepy to continue working on this though. I need to work on something else now or I will doze off!

Oh and we got notice of our annual kick off meeting. I really enjoy the kick off meetings. We get the entire evening off from work and are paid to go to this meeting. It's a little high school play-ish, but still nothing like a boring meeting in a board room. This year's theme is X-men (though not exactly the X-men for copyright reasons). Last year it was a Tiki/Catch the Wave event. The meeting is March 2nd. Afterward food and refreshments are provided. And the company does provide alcohol! But [livejournal.com profile] shagsthedustmop looks like I won't be down on the 2nd exactly, but maybe we can still work something out.

Maybe I don't really wanna know how your garden grows. Cause I just wanna fly.

Your dogs sound like my cat and dog. Dad threw the dog a lump of turkey, and the cat swiped it and sat there trying to get his chops round it, and the poor dog just sat there and watched, bewildered.

It's pretty funny when your dog's hen-pecked by the CAT!

HOLY REINCARNATION BATMAN! Your new dog lookes EXACTLY like my dog I had for 15 years. She passed away a few years ago, but she was a husky mutt mix of some kind and we got her at the aspca. I'm going to have to find a picture of her and scan it to my computer and show it to you. WE ARE COSMICALLY CONNECTED BY DOGS. Just when we thought we couldn't be any more awesome.
