basildestiny: (CSI Miami)

Where do I begin? How about from the beginning. I'm loving that Horatio is Catholic. It may seem like it just fell out of left field. But to me, I'm loving it. It speaks to me, I guess. Plus it lends itself to very interesting shots! The director gets to blatantly say "Stetler = the devil, Horatio = an angel/Christ figure." And that is interesting character development for me.

Ok, so I admit, no way there weren't a billion other contaminants to sort through when processing a crime scene. And yeah, right, the cop could have attempted to shoot BEFORE he did in the show. And sure, his lack of shooting really set Horatio up to the hero. And whoa that opening shot with Calleigh, Wolf, and Delko converging at the same moment on the same spot with their cute little crime scene kits was sooo staged. And yeah, the music is designed to make you feel emotional. But I still love it! I love the reflection in the hospital shot that allowed the director to show what Horatio was looking at without actually having to waste time on a spin shot. I love the emotionalism too. It lets us know that the sin Horatio was confessing in the beginning was the same sin he committed in the episode.

What else? Machine guns and scenes in Miami! A new police station with lots of glass! Always a good idea in the city that houses a team called "The Hurricanes." I always thought it was funny too this little thing. H Caine. Is that like Hurricane? I think Horatio could definitely be just that.

Now, there are other characters on the show, right? What characters? Well I love them all, but to me, the show doesn't exist without Horatio. He's the reason I tune in. Yes, without the team, the show is stale. Without that interaction. That development. I'm uninterested and the show flops. But if he's not the focus, I'm very unhappy. I'm just like his team: I'm in if he's in. When someone mentions his name, I feel this need to find out what's happening. And it's not one of those "I want to have your babiezzzz" thing. I like to think of Horatio as being asexual for the show, thank you very much! No sex from H. He can fall in love and all of that, but I don't want to see it.

So in summary, my favorite show is over the top and unrealistic. But it's also beautiful and emotional and there is a clear cut good guy hero.

Scenes from next week... haven't I seen that episode before? lol It just seems familiar.

My golden retriever puppy will indeed be called Crusher Ratio.
