basildestiny: (I cry for you)

One more thing before I go to bed. Can't believe I've been up this late, but [livejournal.com profile] fogg_1966 always posts something interesting right before I go to bed or go to work and makes me late. Oh well, I kind of enjoy it. It reminded of something I'd been meaning to write either here or my personal journal. I'm going with here since it's easier.

I'm reading Hamlet again. It was my favorite Shakespearan play when I was in high school that we read. I just loved when Hamlet waxed philosophical about death and why we don't kill ourselves. I felt, once again, that someone understood my pain. I bought a copy of the play by itself in a small book size so I could carry it around. I'm reading it again because I want to study a character that I never paid much attention to and rather took for granted. If you've been reading my LJ at all recently, you'll know the character I'm going to name. I'm reading about Horatio. He was Hamlet's best friend. I haven't gotten very far, but something that I found funny that I didn't remember previously was when Benvolio tells Horatio to talk to the ghost because Horatio is a scholar. No one else has attempted to speak to the ghost, but it's ok now that Horatio, the educated man, is here for he can speak with it! Bet you didn't know that you have to be an educated person to talk to ghosts.

The icon is an ode to my favorite movie version of the play. Is it coincidence that I loved Gilderoy Lockhart after Kenneth Branaugh played him?
