starship log, stardate something something.
Tuesday, July 6th, 2004 07:07 pmUpdates, updates. Just a few words really. First of all, I am so addicted to CSI. Especially CSI: Miami and I look forward to Gary Sinise (Lt Dan) in CSI: NY. David Caruso gambled and won by leaving NYPD Blue because I just adore him in CSI: Miami. Emily Proctor is very cool too, but it could just be that I loved her as Ainsley Haynes in West Wing. Poor Rob Lowe gambled and lost. I don't think his Las Vegas doctor show is going to last. I liked his character in West Wing. It redeemed him from that murky past. Sam Seaborn was adorable and idealistic and a brilliant speechwriter and an intelligent lawyer. He won't find anything else like that character and so he's never going to be as endearing. Too bad Rob.
I need to write a whole bunch on Evan Rosier's character. What happened with Maeve is so weird. I realized that he cares more about her than he does for his friend, Rab. Believe me when I say that Maeve and Evan were supposed to argue for much much longer. I think it could have gone down differently if he'd been told around Christmas time. Right after New Year's would have the perfect time to tell him because he was in a bad place. But since then he's been on this fast track to destruction. He's been starting fights, hexing people, getting detentions, hanging out with this future DEs buddies. He's feeling extremely smug. Yes, he is extremely territorial and possessive. But he never told Maeve to be exclusive with him. Just because he's stupidly monogamous didn't mean that she was going to follow through. But I really think that he's incredibly whipped by her. He doesn't do hardly anything recreationally anymore because he's with her every night. He's grown tired of stalking for now. He didn't want to believe what Rab was saying in the first place. So he's willing to make up logic to make it all go away. If he has to reason that he didn't tell her to be exclusive with him, then he's going to do it. He's not going to be able to scream at his girl when she's shaking on the floor, near to tears, her voice cracking. When she says it was once only, he's very inclined to believe her. Because honestly, how often has he seen her like that? And it's his job to take care of his girl. It's her job to hurt him, beat him, and punish him. Just don't do it that way again, please. So he asks her. So I'm sorry for those that expecting to see Evan and Maeve angsting. But given the choice of seducing her out of that dark mood or walking away from her, which path is Evan Rosier going to take? He's the devil of seduction, not the devil of monogamy.
I will one day write that essay on Owen versus Luke Wilson. I'll just have to sit down when I'm in a wilson brothers mood and write it down.
Time to watch more CSI: Miami
