Kill Bill Volume 1. And it gets interesting at the end. So a few thoughts. People cried in this movie? I found myself laughing at the insanity. And not a happy laugh. Here are the things that kept me back about this movie and some things that I enjoyed. I love the Japanese language. It could be that I don't live there, but I think it really has to do with deep down I'm a linguist trying to come out. I should devote myself to learning languages. It would very fulfilling. It was beautifuly in some scenes. He put a lot of work into his filmography. I appreciate that. I love the little details to scenes. One of my favorite bits in Alex and Emma is how they put the Norah Jones' song in. Alex and Emma are conversing over lunch. They are back and forth. She says the big kicker and he has no response. But as a retort, they have Norah Jones start singing "Those Sweet Words" with the first line being "What did you say?" and Luke Wilson really plays into that line with his facial features. It looked planned rather than a happy coincidence. I do enjoy the little things. And Kill Bill had a lot of the little things. But this was anime. One of those bloody slasher animes. I'm not really into the gorefests unless there is an interesting plot going on. There is an interesting plot in Kill Bill but it's on in the background. Who is Bill? Who are the Deadly Viper Squad? Who was the groom? Why was the Bride getting married? All good questions to be answered in the next installment. I understand needing a hook to bring us back, but I would have enjoyed a hook to be there in the first place. I flinched in a lot of it. And we're talking about someone who enjoyed Skinner which was a movie with Ted Raimi who was a serial killer that skinned people and wore their skin like a costume. But to me, that struck me as funny amid all of the gore. I think it's the juxtapositioning of Uma Thurman to the violence. I just didn't buy it. Tell me why you cried in this movie. That final question at the end was great. It was beautiful. It was. It just didn't make me cry and I didn't really get any kind of enjoyment out of the gore.

Punky would explain it to me if her computer wasn't broked

People cried?

I think it's supposed to be funny.
