basildestinyI feel like I should bring over my Island!Zack icon. Alas I must buy more userpics or do an icon purge to make room. I may be able to justify buying my account and his account next week as I am picking up more extra hours.
Anyway I keep meaning to post about the irony of this. I work for a clothing company at their corporate customer service department. I also take sales overflow calls. As a result, I have all of our recent catalogs on my desk. Our June Sales book features beach scenery. (Granted it is the summer and it is not a stretch to imagine people might want clothing to wear to the beach.)
Of course this beach looks pretty much like a deserted island. There are the typical beach umbrellas, but no crowd. (Undoubtedly because our customers are so elegant, they can pay to have the beach to themselves or to visit a private beach.) In Crisis Core (and the rest of the FFVII fandom), there's a beach resort called Costa Del Sol. Yes, very original. Sun Beach. At least they didn't actually call it Sun Beach. Costa Del Sol looks identical to the catalog cover beach, as most beaches might. However, Costa Del Sol also has beach umbrellas that look exactly like the ones on the cover of the catalog except blue and white instead of red and white. So I keep picturing Zack fighting off Genesis clones with said umbrella as he did in Crisis Core.
Later in the catalog there are pictures of the models (NOT wearing horrible 80s tshirts) standing in front of dilapated looking beach homes. I keep expecting to turn the page and see either The Compound or John Sheppard. Maybe Cloud. Or Mohinder. Or some BoB fella in the woods behind theseshacks huts.
I might have a very active imagination. I don't mind in the least though. It keeps me from getting utterly bored while I take orders and send replacement pairs of capris.
