Doctor's Appointments and Gas Pumps
Monday, June 23rd, 2008 04:35 pmI had an appointment with my gyn. I had an appointment earlier this month, but it was not a good time. I called to see if it was a follow up to my new medication or an exam to which I was told it was an exam. When I got there today, yeah, not an exam just a follow up to my medications. Not to mention that I got turned around again today because the exit had been renamed! And then I parked in a different parking garage because there was a truck blocking the entrance to the one I normally use. So I got turned around in the hospital too. I got all the way to the 6th floor, only to realize there was no office 614. I did eventually make it. And we discussed my primary care doctor not knowing what he's talking about. lol Possibly more medication to follow on Friday as thyroid replacement.
As for gas pumps, it is pretty bad when they start switching up the grades of the gasoline in an effort to trick you into picking the wrong grade. I started pumping gas into my truck and thought "Wow $4.04. I didn't realize we'd reached that mark already." Only to notice that the 87 grade was in the middle and I was pumping 98. At least it wasn't 92. I had that happen at the "cheap" gas station.
Also huzzah!

I notice that I typically have two moods when I post in my LJ: amused or annoyed.
ETA And LOL to someone with Salmon in their SN on AIM. Is that anyone on here? They always log on and IM me, but don't know who I am. I don't know who they are and they have like 3 variations to the word Salmon. Today they told me they weren't in the mood for mysterious friends, but they were the one who IMed me.

Date: 2008-06-23 08:58 pm (UTC)Sadly they are always doing road work. 75 and 40 meet in Knoxville so there is always something being done. The current construction started in April, I think, and was set to be complete 15 months later.

Athens faces little to no roadwork, thankfully. Where I used to live it was constant, especially with John working daily in Atlanta. I hated waiting 2 or more hours for him to get home on what should be a 40 minute drive!

Date: 2008-06-23 09:30 pm (UTC)I have gained a lot of weight over the past 8 years which has stubborn to go away. We're trying to get to the source of my PCOS, but we just started really getting into it in March. Glancing at a few of the symptoms, they are very similar to insulin resistance. So it's possible. I implicitly trust this doctor as he was recommended by my nurse mother-in-law and thus far he has been dead on accurate. I honestly hope the tests come back with something because it would be nice to try to narrow this down.
