Very tired today. Ran all over the neighborhood chasing the phantom dog. We got several calls today. I thank God for thoughtful people who called when they saw her. We got a few calls that they'd seen her just 10 minutes ago.
I got off work and stopped back by. And I actually saw her. She saw me. And ran off in the other direction. I called to her and got out of the truck, she ran into a backyard, I woke up the owner of the house. He didn't seem too happy to woken up. He didn't threaten the cops or get a shotgun, but I figured it wasn't a good time to traisping around in his backyard. Besides, I couldn't really see.
So she's healthy and doing a lot of traveling. Tomorrow I'm going to take the boys walking in that neighborhood. It's obviously her favorite as she spent most of her day there. I'm hopeful that we'll get her back when I walk her pack. If not, we're going to move on to the trap stage.
She got out of the fence without a collar. I've been meaning to get those breakaway kinds in case they get caught on something the collar won't suffocate them. But I hadn't done that yet. Several people have said that we should make sure to have a collar on her when we get her back. Trouble is, it would do us no good at this point. She's running from every human that she sees. The whole neighborhood knows our number, I'm sure. lol And I really appreciate their thoughtfulness.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
Also I'd like to mention that I am such a Simon-Peter sometimes. I deny the Lord constantly. It goes back to the whole comfort zone post. I don't feel comfortable saying "I know the Lord will bring my dog back home." So I say something else instead of what I mean. I really can't stand that about myself.
Going to bed soon

Date: 2007-07-07 07:47 pm (UTC)Some unknown person put her into a fenced backyard with 4 other dogs between the time we saw last night at midnight and 5 o'clock when the family went to let their dogs out. A neighbor called us and we scurried over to get her. We're convinced it was God or an angel or something similar that put her into the fence. Since a) she doesn't trust people and ran from even me last night and b) who is up between 1 and 4 am putting dogs into fences?
