Yeah, we're catching up now. It's the summer lazy days so no new DuCaine CSI Miamis or Heroes. I heard a rumor that Jericho is not coming back. Anyone heard anything on that? Confirmed that Jericho is out. Ok, trying to do some research myself, I found myself checking out CBS' 2007 fall line up.
There's a show with Jimmy Smits in it. This is interesting... prepare yourself for unneccessarily long and drawn out story. As we know, David Caruso quit NYPD Blue because he felt he was the star on the show and he wasn't getting paid enough. (I've watched 5 or 6 episodes from Season 1 NYPD Blue and I thought he was fabulous. I thought he really was the star of the show. So I can see why ...) He took a gamble that the show would fail without him. He was wrong and they ushered in Jimmy Smits to fill his role. Then when David made his big come back on CSI Miami, there were rumors that he might try to do a repeat NYPD Blue walk off. I seriously doubt he would have done it twice seeing as he failed and nearly didn't have a career at all. But still the rumors swirled. And the rumors went further by saying that CBS had brought in Jimmy Smits to replace David if he were to walk. David didn't walk and I have my lovely show with my favorite ship all thanks to him. Even though I do find the man incredibly, incredibly creepy. I know I mention this fact every time I make an entry about David, but I don't think I can ever over emphasize my creeped out ness. Anyway, CBS has a new show coming out, starring Jimmy Smits, as I mentioned early. The name of the show is Cane. The name of the character David Caruso plays on CSI Miami is Horatio Caine. I thought it was mildly amusing how live works like that.
(ETA Apparently the Jimmy Smits plot thickens. So Jimmy was originally asked to play a character named Flinn on NYPD Blue, but he turned it down. This character's name was eventually changed to... John Kelly. And David Caruso was cast in the role. Blah, blah, blah, David quit, Jimmy decided he'd do the show after all. Flash forward a few years, he was asked to play the lead on CSI: Miami. Who is now played by...? David Caruso. Jimmy Smits should stop passing on roles. Then again, no thanks. I like DuCaine the way it is. Anyway, Jimmy Smits has apparently been living with his girlfriend since 1986. Well his girlfriend is Wanda De Jesus. She played Dective Adell Sevilla in CSI Miami. Which is also funny because there were people that shipped Horatio and Adell. So it would seem that Smits and Caruso have fate bringing 'em together.)
Eureka is still good to go in the fall. There are 13 episodes. Sci-Fi has a crazy schedule, but at least you can count on them to follow through with a show when promised rather than cliffhanger ending and CANCELLED.
Looks like there's a William B Davis movie to be aired soon on Sci-Fi. Which is funny because I was randomly looking him up on IMdB today. Cancer Man. The Cigarette Smoking Man. Whatever you called him. I was never one for CSM. He was the star of the show, according to him, you know.
Anyway, we're starting on Lost. I'm not worried about spoilers in the least. We just want to catch up. We're on season 1 episode 14. I find it funny that Shannon and Boone were both on CSI: Miami. Everyone is on that show. Including Sarke, aka Rabastan Lestrange. Just need some Luke or Owen, but they've graduated to movies. Still, we have Brendan Fehr from Roswell. I always thought he was a David Duchovny lookalike. And he really is now that he's gotten older. And of course, Luke played on X-Files... so you can see the connection I'm making with this. haha Yes, I like to talk in circles. Ask my friends from high school. I once rambled on for an entire car trip just because they thought I couldn't do it. No stopping, though I did breathe.
So hopefully we'll get caught up with Lost. Then I'll be going back and watching Seasons 1 and 2 of Stargate: Atlantis. Blasphemy, I know! I love the show and I'm a Sparky shipper, but I haven't seen the bestest episodes. And of course,John Doggett Robert Patrick is in the first season. And Col Skinner Caldwell still shows up. Just gotta bring Carson back and the world will be right.
Well the world will be right whenever Horatio and Calleigh get to kiss on screen. I'd feel sorry for Emily, but as I've heard while reading all these unfulfilling fanfics, DuCaine is my catnip. And I don't even like cats. that much.
If that ain't love, I don't know what love is
