Happy Mother's Day
Monday, May 14th, 2007 11:07 pmI know it was yesterday. But I didn't make a post yesterday so... I hope you mothers had a good day.
We went to church with my mom to the Saturday evening service at our church. Luckily Matt was off. His last day off before his new schedule started. Yuck. But afterward, we went to Wassabis with my brother and sister and had a great time! It was a bit pricey, but who can put a price tag on a mother's happiness?
Then Sunday, we got up early-ish and went to church with Matt's mom. Afterward we went out to Ruby Tuesday's with his family minus his little brother who is out of town in California with the governator. We got her a gift certificate to Connor's Restaurant though. We wanted her to go some place nice as well.
Then I spent the day with my mom, lazing around watching movies on the Hallmark channel. My mom just loves those women drama movies. And we watched the Rundown. She loves the Rock. But she adores Ernie Reyes Jr. He's from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. He played Keno the pizza delivery kid. He was also the older brother in Surf Ninjas. And his dad was the crazy one eyed guy from Potosan. In the Rundown, he plays the little Portugese guerilla who beats up on the Rock and then is shot by Christopher Walken's goons.
Well let's talk Season Finales. Just got finished with the CSI Miami one. They were headed in a Calleigh/Eric direction. Not my favorite. But they kept trying to stick Jake in there. I personally don't think Jake is a good choice for her. We know she had a thing for dangerous guys, but Jake is an ex. Why try that again? And of course, they start that fire up at the end of the show. I never thought I would get on the ship I'm on with that show. But I found some amazing fan fic that made me a convert. I used to be a HUGE Horatio/Yelina fan. But that woman seriously hurt him. Stetler? It's one thing when you don't know the guy, but she saw what he was doing. Besides, his ties NEVER match his shirt. Yuck! Maybe she finds that cute. Whatever. I'm still not over her marrying Richard on Caroline in the City. But I felt Horatio was strong enough to handle her. Still, after Raymond turned out to be alive after all, that ended my HY times. So I started reading fanfic and... I'm an HC shipper. Eye roll majorly. Especially since we all know the show will never let them get together. It would ruin the show. I think EC is a worse pairing. And CJ has never been my thing. I hate this stupid scar. It doesn't make him dangerous. Just cocky. If she really likes danger, go with H. People he cares about always end up dying. lol But I'm content to let the show do whatever it wants. I'll just sit back and keep reading my favorite fan fic authors and pretend that it is all subtext and cover for the real relationship.
I am glad that Wolf is working so hard to prove himself. I didn't want him out. And Natalia isn't as obnoxious with that ex husband plot out of the way.
Let's move it along. Stargate SG-1. I'm sad to see this show go. I've actually seen all of the episodes. Nothing truly amazing occurs at the end. I'm a Daniel/Vala shipper. So we'll say that I'm not disappointed. I'd love for Cam to hook up with his high school crush. Maybe one day she'll visit. I can't imagine why you'd let a little thing like the existence of aliens put a damper on your love life! haha I used to be really into the whole O'Neal/Carter ship, but they are much like Horatio and Calleigh. They can't be because of the work relationship. My husband thinks that she's destined to hook up with McKay. I wouldn't mind that, but they've got him in some rediculous relationship. Which is OOPS a spoiler from next week's episode, but it's not really a big spoiler at all. I'm sad to see this show go though.
Stargate Atlantis. I have seen all of those episodes as well.
Carson Beckett dies. Absolutely depressing! I'd rather have Zulinka or however you spell it gone. That crappy Russian accent wouldn't be missed. But NOOOOOo they have to go and kill my Celtic accented guy. The best doctor with the best morals. I'm still in shock that they did this. Just because I'm having a selffish moment and I want my doctor! So his replacement is the mechanic from Serenity. I thought she sounded awfully familar in the last episode and I was even thinking she looked like her, but I didn't think it was ACTUALLY her. I checked though and it is. Jewel Staite. The show ends lamely with the Replacers coming back and powering up the Star Drive only to lose power in the middle of no where. Oh and the command room is blown up a little bit so of course we dont' know if Weir is ok. Plus the writers really like to mess with the ships that are out there. So they've completely crushed my ship. And I say poo on that. Sheppard has been acting particularly boyish lately. They're trying to act like he and Tayla will hook up. Even though we all know Ronin/Tayla all the way foo'z.
Other than that I finished Voyager and I'm a little sad that my pairing didn't work out. Not that I don't like the pairings. I was just a little sad not to have the ones I wanted. But booyah Borg Queen! You should know not to mess with Janeway. It never works out in your favor.
And there are tales of the X-Files movie. Let's hope so! I'm actually kind of excited at the prospect and I'm hopeful it won't be completely lame. Don't disappoint me, writers!!
Looks like I won't be making it to the corgi picnic this Sunday. I'm disappointed, but it is from 11 am to 2 pm in Kingsport. And I have other commitments now for that time.
I went for my interview today only to drive all the way to Knoxville and find out that the poor interview lady had lost an aunt over the weekend and wasn't in. So I'll probably be going back on Wednesday for another go.
Lastly a bit of unexpectedly wonderfully fantastic news. It was quite an emotional event, but I do believe that Mulder has found Scully once again. And that Scully has found Mulder. And that even though it's been a long time, it seems as though not that much has changed. Or maybe that things have changed, but surprisingly it turns out that they have actually settled FURTHER into their roles. It's a beautiful thing if I do say so myself.
I want to believe - Mulder's favorite poster

PS I was just talking about Jane Gulley and Scott Snyder last night. I think I still have that insane extra credit page. Who knows what box I've put it in though. I'll have to try to find that.

Date: 2007-05-16 12:29 am (UTC)Dirty, dirty secrets. But who doesn't like Arcadia? Well I did read some bad reviews about the plot, but who cares about the plot? We just wanted Mulder and Scully to be married!
