I wish I could play that song on Heavy. I was once able to play it. And now? I would DIE! And then I would fail.

I really want to get my DDRing back up to par. There are few things better than losing weight, feeling good about it, and being able to play Cowgirl on Heavy. Or In the Navy on Heavy.

I have been overweight for the past 6 years. I'd like to get back to the difference of having just a big of flab or not instead of this food obsession I've had.

But WoWing has seriously caused some hang ups in that area. Simply put, I play too much. Hopefully this awful winter weather will give way to spring showers. I like spring showers. Not 3 inches of snow.

So last Friday I went to Winter Jam 2006. This was an awesome concert. Krystal Meyers opened. She was basically the preshow. I wasn't really impressed by her. She's 17 and she was jumping around like Avril Lavigne. At least she wasn't dressed like Avril (aka a clone). But the location was not very nice for her voice. I don't know if she was really sounding that bad or if it was the equipment. I wasn't impressed though. It could have been because I'm not really a fan though. I like some of her songs and others of them aren't impressive. And they get maybe a little too much radio play.

Newsong was hosting the event. Then Hawk Nelson, Zoegirl, The Sphere of Fear, Tobymac, and Newsboys.

Newsong was pretty good. I didn't know all of their songs, but I had a nice time listening to them.

There was a love offering, prayer and testimony. A segment about Holt international and we signed up to support a child until he got to an adoptive family (in his home country or elsewhere). I picked a kid named Godfrey from Ughanda. He just reminded me of my best friends' kids so much. It was something about the eyes.

We had Hawk Nelson come out next. Those guys are just so cute. Nothing cuter than emo punk bands. Well maybe a few things. But I liked how the guys all had a letter on the back of their shirt to spell out "Hawk." I didn't know they were Canadian. Their song about California threw me off. I had a blast with these guys.

Then there was Zoegirl. I'm not really enamored by the girl bands. I'm sure I wouldn't mind one if it sounded the way I like my band. They had one song that I really liked, but I don't know what it is. I think that maybe it's unreleased or will be released on the new album.

Then we had a love offering, a testimony, and an intermission.

Sphere of Fear was after that. They wound up fitting three motorcycles into this small cage! Good stuff! The youngest rider was a 13 year old.

Then Tobymac came out. Woo! This, of course, was my favorite part of the night. He did a bunch of medleys. And Matt actually enjoyed it and participated. I was just so glad to see someone who doesn't like music, enjoying Tobymac. But it was Tobymac. He played Jesus Freak or the first verse anyway. And some of his recent stuff and some medleys of random stuff. Shonlock some out and did some cool "break" dancing as it was once called. He flipped Toby over his back. I don't think that I can really convey into words how cool it was to see Toby in person. I've always liked him because he doesn't flinch about putting God and Jesus into his lyrics. And his concert delivered exactly on those lines. Plus he came out and said "Yo." And everyone in the audience laughed.

Lastly was Newsboys. Newsboys changed lead singers some time in their band history. But these guys are from Australia. I liked them too. They mostly do worship-esque songs. Contemporary worship songs. I heard someone saying that so and so band was so much better than so and so band. But I think each band fit a different niche. No one was better than the other because they can't compete. But Tobymac is cooler than Eminem. And Newsboys are better than Natalie Imbruglia. They played some good songs. Entertaining Angels is one that I'll probably buy. And "I Am Free," which is a song I can't find on Napster OR I-Tunes.

All in all, I had a great time. It was wonderful to have the day off. It was great to go to a concert in which we prayed and everyone was considered part of the family. It was wonderful to see people unafraid of standing up and asking for someone else to pray for them. I'm so used to the world that mocks me for believing in something that my confidence wanes too often in speaking my mind. I'm afraid to speak.

And I'm really good at filling my time with other things. I know that I need to pray more and I need to spend more time in God's Word, but I can find so many other things to fill my time. Like right now, I'm writing this entry instead of reading. Time management is not my forte.

I saw my wedding photographer at the concert. He was there with his wife taking pictures for Hawk Nelson. I'm trying to point a friend from work in his direction. She's getting married and I think she'd really like him.

A friend of mine says he'll sing Matt and I's wedding song for our anniversary. He says he plays that song with his band. I plan on holding him to this commitment.

It might sound weird coming from me, but I'd love to hear some of that music. My mom has this one cd she plays in her class and in the car, but I can only hear those 10 different versions of "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" so many times. So send me a cd of something that rocks! Or something beautiful. No crappy Krystal Meyers, though.

Glad you had a good time! That's something you need to have more often, considering how things are at the workplace. *huggles*
