I woke up this morning to the annoying barking of the neighbor's dogs. The terrier is normally a quiet sort, but when its friend the bulldog is visiting, the neighbor is a stir with energy. The terrier feels confident with the bulldog around and barks at everyone. Including my dog. The window was open last night and as soon as the barking began, Riker stuck his head out the window to inquire what was the fuss. Hearing the noise, I awoke, hoping to close the window and thus block out a small bit of the noise. My dog, the vorta, heard me stir and immediately ran over and laid down in the bed next to me. He snuggled up and refused to move. If I attempted to push him off the covers, he snuggled closer! He remembered from the day before that loud barking out the window in response to the terrier an bulldog = the window being closed and having to go sit in doggy time out. Eventually I shoved him off of the bed and closed the window. He seemed to give me this look of disappointment. Not to mention that he laid down on the bed where I had been sleeping.

About half an hour later, I hear something melodious that sounds like a ringtone. But it's not any of my ringtones. It sounded awfully sweet to be one of Matt's ringtones so I started wandering around the house looking for the source of this music. I walked past the spare room to the living room and nothing. On my way back to the bedroom, I noticed that the door to the spare room was ajar. The vorta likes to go through the baby stuff that Tiffany gave us earlier this year when she was cleaning house for the move. He thinks the baby stuffed animals are really cool! I knew he'd probably stolen the zebra. It tends to be his favorite one. However, being tired and unable to find the source of the music, I went back to bed. Then it started again. So I checked jean pockets for a lost cell phone. Nothing! Back to bed, then I noticed the vorta had been ignoring me. What was he doing? Well he had found a baby vorta (a stuffed monkey)!! that played music when its tail is pulled. He kept pulling the tail. I stressed to Matthew later, the importance of making sure the door is pulled shut and latched in the future since the vorta is determined to get at my stuff in there which does not belong to him. The turd!

On the way to work, we passed a BellSouth security truck. We laughed at the joys of working for BellSouth (as that was the campaign we both worked while at ClientLogic). I said that I had the best security system ever!! A vorta who could summon the Jem hadar like a necromancer.
