The Debate
Thursday, October 14th, 2004 04:27 pmAlrighty, folks! I watched the first part of the debate this morning before work. First of all, Kerry was great. He wasn't being steamrolled at all. I love this moderator. He didn't let Bush interupt after every question he didn't get to have the last word on. I think that is so much more fair.
A couple of things though. Did Bush laugh at Kerry's suggestion that the nation should have access to the same healthcare that senators have access to? The President said that the government could not afford to pay for that and then he laughed! WTF? That's not funny! A logical, educated person, like say John McCain would have said "Senator Kerry, you have a good idea, but it is not possible to pay for what you suggest." And that person wouldn't laugh at the notion. I feel as though the President thinks I'm a joke. Luckily enough I am on the same healthcare as John Kerry (Blue Cross Blue Shield). But it hasn't always been that way.
I also liked the President's little speech about what he says to people whose jobs are going overseas. He's going to give me money so that I can go back to school and learn the skills of the 21st century??? Really! Whoa. I thought working on a computer was a skill of the 21st century and yet my last job has gone to Manilla and India. I'm not married and I don't kids either so I guess I'm on my own as far as acquiring these skills, huh? Thanks, Mr President! Love ya!
He's such a liar. I can't wait to see the rest of it because I really enjoyed what I saw so far of Kerry's performance. Even if I completely disagree with that whole sanctity of marriage bit. Marriage is legal not holy or sacred. It should be decided by the courts. But I am glad that Kerry said it wasn't a choice. Though that mention of Cheney's daughter seemed just slightly dirty. Still he's much cleaner by a long shot than Bush.

Date: 2004-10-14 02:01 pm (UTC)One thing that annoyed me was after the debate they had Giuliani as the Bush advocate (Giuliani being very well known and respected by both dems and reps by how he handled 9/11) and some fucking senator from Louisiana that no one has ever heard of as the Kerry rep - made it seem totally unbalanced to me.

Date: 2004-10-14 05:07 pm (UTC)Yes, but Teresa needs to learn how to brush her hair. Egads! What a witch!!
I heard girls at school talking about how they're boycotting ketchup. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. As if the tomatos are all that liberal. It's a vegetable!!
When John Kerry said, "The President talking to me about fiscality is like Tony Soprano talking about Law and Order" *rim shot* and the audience laughed, I had to moan. LAME, Johnny boy, LAME!! Then Dumb-Bumpkin Bush made jokes and only he laughed, which in turn caused ME to laugh. It's hilarious that only he thinks he's funny. I bet even Laura was like, "What? Georgey porgey, baby. Shut the hell up."

Date: 2004-10-14 10:07 pm (UTC)Boycotting ketchup? Wow! That's so awesome!!! It's not even Kerry's money. Or even Teresa's. But I've heard people say the same thing. I just quietly laugh.
I loved when Kerry said that. I don't think it was meant to be funny. It was just a visual for those undecided people that are retarded and need visuals.
lol I wish I could laugh about Bush, but he's on my nerves tonight. That BS he was spewing about jobs being outsourced when my Information Technology job was outsourced is just so aggravating for me. I'm trying not to shit in your cheerios about Bush, but I'm not feeling particularly impartial tonight. :( Sorry.
