Oh, Ed Gillespie, you are a very wise and smart man. He may have been trounced by John Stewart on the issues, but the fact is that this man is a very good choice for the Republican National Convention. I'm watching him on Washington Journal and he's very respectful. He's saying Senator Kerry's name. He's not saying "The Democratic Nominee," "Our Opponent," etc. He's discussing the issues. I'm very proud of the guy. Ed, you are the man. Someone called in and asked "Why isn't Kerry showing the RNC the respect that Bush showed the DNC?" His response was that Senator Kerry is taking three days off and then he's giving a speech for the Legionaires and that the campaign doesn't begrudge Senator Kerry this. And that he's welcome to give speeches if he'd like and that the Legionaires decided to hold their convention at the same time and that it may have been unavoidable. Good show, man. Thank you for showing respect. It wasn't neccessary, but you did it anyway. He also has written several memos which he described on the show regarding the protestors. He asked that they not go back and forth with the protestors and respect the protestors' rights to protest. He also spoke directly to questions about the election. He said that he believes anyone who runs for office and especially for presidential office believes what he says and believes that his positions are right. He went further to say that he doesn't believe Senator Kerry is an evil or bad person, but rather that he disagrees with him. He simply believes that Senator Kerry's ideas are wrong. Thank you, once again, Ed Gillespie. I cannot wait for the debates to begin. I'd love to see what the future holds and I'm willing to listen to the Republican side. As I've been saying for months, I don't agree with President Bush's positions but I'll give a listen all the same. I'm just not into mixing religion with politics. I know that Senator Kerry is doing the same thing, but I feel that he's more liberal about it than his opponent.

Thank you one more time, Ed Gillespie

Interesting post. What did the caller mean about Kerry showing respect for the RNC? I have no idea what they were talking about.

Also, how does Kerry mix religion with politics? One of the things I most admire about him is his stance for separation of Church and State. Are you talking about something else?
