Several things today!

I went to a Hope for Democracy or something like that meetup today. I didn't know it was a modified Howard Dean group. It was weird because I was expecting a group of organized people who were going to discuss their views and ways to get the word out and tonight's meeting was all about educating the group about Kerry and Edwards. Of course I am very happy that they are educated on the subject, but I was bored! I love those two and was trying to show respect by letting the special guest answer the questions. And seriously there weren't any issues addressed that I needed clarification. There were some good comments though. At one point someone asked for bullets of what Kerry stands for and the guest said that was the problem with the election this year. I just didn't think he was very eloquent. I would have urged people to educate themselves. Don't make it a negative thing, make it positive. Tell them that they need to educate themselves. Don't make it the voters' fault. Even though it is their fault, we want to get them out there and excited about learning this stuff. We went them to come back next election. We want them to remember that our campaign got them excited about politics and their country again! I was glad that he mentioned Kerry not having a stance on some issues and the media's obsession with calling him a waffle. He said that Kerry was a thinker. I think he missed out on saying that Kerry couldn't have solutions for everything. Other nations aren't going to start making alliances with John Kerry, presidential candidate. There was a Republican at the meeting who seemed very intelligent and logical. I would have loved to have talked with him, but the whole getting everyone on the same page with Kerry/Edwards took up all of our time. When I got home, I did a search for Kerry meetups and finally signed up as a Kerry Volunteer. Nothing in my region to do though except stir up campaign funds, get more volunteers, etc. No meetings to discuss or anything of that sort. Oh and just for giggles, I should mention that I'm pretty certain the group thought my best friend and I were lesbians with two children. So just to throw them off, I found a way to subtley through in a husband comment that left no doubt that I wasn't her husband.

I have two job offers. Or possible job offers. I got a call from the temp agency I was working for last week and they want to submit me for a job. The job I have wanted to do my entire youth! It would be in a vet clinic doing reception work and learning to do some vet assistant work! The drawbacks include a 45 - 60 minute drive due to the construction on I-40 which causes rush hour traffic to back-up, pay that is not much for what I'd be doing and how far I'd be driving, and it's only part time. I just couldn't bring myself to say no. There are too many opportunities. The other job is the baker position I may have mentioned. This job is third shift so it pays extremely well. They are down three bakers as of tonight and I'm the only one who has turned in an application for the job. So they need people really badly and I'm the only person who has been interested. I already spoke with the boss lady on Tuesday. My friend spoke with her and she was waiting for my call. Very nice person! And she said to give him my application (so she'd know where to find it and make sure it got proper attention) and that she already had two interviews this week or else she'd set it up for this week, but that she'd set one up for next week and that she was going to hire someone next week. I don't know what I'll do if I land both jobs. I imagine that I'll take power naps on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Finally, a former co-worker, Shady Art, is running for City Council. I have known this, but I didn't realize he was still in the race! I thought for sure he wouldn't make it this far. He's the kind of guy that I would say hello to and have a lenghty conversation if I saw him in public, but his values are from way back when. Antiquainted and awful. He stands up for what he believes in, it's just that what he believes is wrong. And I don't mean that he's a Republican and I'm a Democrat and let's just believe the stereotypes. I mean he's kind of crazy with some of his beliefs.

My brother may come home this weekend! I hope so!! Also ... nope lost it.
