Happy Birthday to ME!!
Sunday, March 28th, 2004 10:20 pmI had the best birthday this year! All of the important people in my life wished me happy birthday. T IMed a few hours before to wish me happy almost birthday. Punky remembered even when she said she wouldn't and her IM just meant so much. Dream even left me a note in her DJ! On top of that, my dad called and we shared an awkward phone call where he tried to show me he cares, but has problems verbally expressing himself. However, I opened his card and it was the sweetest thing he's ever said! My sister gave me this awesome card that made me laugh. Our plans for the day were to go out to my favorite Mexican restaurant. My mom said she'd meet me there because she needed so money. I was going to leave with her, but figured that was a hint that she needed to do something so I said I'd meet them. When I got there, they had TWO bouquets of flowers!!! And a card from mom. My grandmother called and here I thought she was just mad at me and rightfully so since I haven't written or called relatives in so long. This shift really screws me up as far as contacting people. And the best part? When the caller ID read "Unknown Name"!!!! I was so happy. My brother has never missed calling me on my birthday in the past three years that he's been in the Marine Corp. I love him so much. I didn't think he would call since he'd called on Tuesday about his new orders and wished me Happy Birthday if he didn't get a chance to talk me before my birthday. I wish he wasn't so difficult to buy for so I could return the favor, but I'm storing up for when he's stateside again. It's hard to buy for him when I know he can't lug it around and I just don't have a lot of money to give to him. Anyway, his call was all the present that I needed from him. It just meant a lot to me that he timed it like that. He's 14 hours ahead of us. Sydney called me last night from Chattanooga to tell me that he wanted to take me out to dinner and make sure it didn't interfere with plans. So he called and said he was having car troubles and asked me to drive out to his house because he had reservations for 6:45 and it was already 6 pm. So I drove out there and on the way I called my grandmother. We talked and she was elated to hear that we have the same political views! We talked about John Kerry too. We both like him and find him to be very well educated. It was nice to talk to her again. I also got to get the full details about Sebastian. I feel reassured now that I know. I should write my brother and give him the full details now that I think about it.
So I arrive at Sydney's house. He has bought me some roses. So sweet. And a card! And we go out to dinner at this restaurant his friend, Rhys, in Chattanooga had recommended (Rhys is from Oak Ridge). After dinner, he drives past his exit. And further. But he had made a CD with C7 Air and turned it WAAAAY up (the only way to listen to that song) so I was in heaven. He takes me to this remote location that he set up earlier in the day. He's strung some lights and has a generator in the back of the Blazer running a refrigerator and powering the lights. He has a table set up and two chairs in the truck and a cake!! And Rhys even made us a romantic music mix on CD. I was so happy. All I wanted was for Sydney to tell me happy birthday and I would have been happy. But he wanted to make up for missing last year's birthday. And he told me that he loved me. Which I already knew, but it was nice to hear again.
Also, Joe left me a card on my car. It's the funniest thing, but it's only inside joke funny.
This was the best birthday ever! Not to mention that mom bought me a bunch of stuff yesterday. Including that Rammstein Lichtspeilhaus DVD and Black and White Deluxe for the PC. The game is awesome! I haven't played that much, but I'm having so much fun on it.
The Rammstein DVD I watched with Sydney on his home theatre. Till was gorgeous!! And Paul in the Du Riechst So Gut 98 makeup was HOT!!!!! I never liked Till much in that video because the big kissing scene made his face look really round and bloated. He looked like a dead and bloated body. It was funny watching him practice kissing! Too bad there weren't more interviews because we didn't really get to see much of their personalities. Glad to see Olli can talk. Sydney is an even bigger fan of Rammstein now. If they come within an 800 mile radius again, I have a feeling we will go. He didn't know a single song by Rammstein that he didn't like. Oddly he likes Wilder Wine whereas I think it's too slow. I think it's the giant sombreros in the LaB DVD that gets him though. I want to see the Mutter show! I hope they make a DVD for those concerts.
Well time for bed! Night all! I love you and thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I used to be so embarrassed, but now it is a welcome reminder that people do care about me.
The DVD menus were amazing for Lichtspeilhaus
