I've been reading Bridget Jones's Diary (I bought it at the used bookstore--I also like the movie better) and I find myself wanting to blog in the same style as her diary. Especially since I've read several chapters tonight. I have November and December left to go.

We went out to eat with the in-laws after work. We had Buddy's BBQ. It was alright when I ate it, but I have had terrible indigestion since then. I think it might have something to do with the horrible over-cooked nature of the chicken.

I mentioned my recent General Hospital fan realization moment. And my mother-in-law revealed she used to watch the show some 20 years ago when she was in nursing school. That and Days of Our Lives. So ... you wonder ... what is her favorite couple? Lucky and Liz, of course! I didn't mention Liz and Jason.

Oh bumped into childhood BFF with her husband and kids. They've moved back to town suddenly. Apparently the oldest, my godson, wanted to go back to public schooling (he was being home schooled). So he's at our middle (junior high) school and the baby who is four is going to a private (pre)school. And they are living next door to the home she grew up in. Her stepmother still lives in the childhood home.

Lastly, Chakotay thought our home needed some decorating. So he ripped up one of my pillows and made it snow in the front entryway. That was on Monday. Since then, he's found pillows I didn't know where hidden in places and ripped those up too. I think he's upset that I've been working on my days off. German Shepherds. -_-

Terrible Drabbles! This new game meme is cracking me up. I have about half a dozen ideas that I do not have the time to write at the moment.

[livejournal.com profile] zomgrhiYou must put Cloud in. And McKay.

Maybe this weekend ... or next Monday, I'll put up the Songs from the Year You Graduated Meme. I'm working through Saturday. Sunday we are probably taking the dogs over to our friends' house to play with their two German Shepherds. Hopefully I'll have a day off, but I'm worried I'll be tempted by OT generated by our latest Sale.

I was happy today by the latest catalog I received because my name was shared with other catalogs by my work. LL Bean! I have been meaning to sign up for their catalog. I wish my employee discount applied to them. I mentioned that I always wanted one of those LL Bean backpacks with my initials on it. Matt said I should get one, but I only wanted it at school. Of course, he said that I will be going back to school so whenever that happens (ie when our debt is paid off) I'll be getting one of those backpacks. YES!

I'm watching Survivorman. I think I get him now. I like Bear, Man vs Wild, because he doesn't take his situation lying down. He gets proactive and moves which isn't necessarily the best thing if you go with the idea that it's best to stay put and wait to be rescued. Still I like it better. Les, Survivorman, just tries to stay in some place really inhospitable for a set time frame, seven days usually.

This needs a Shep icon. There really needs to be more Shep icons in the world. And Steve Burton, but I'm getting off track. I'm hoping to buy a paid account before September ends. Wake me up before September ends ...

That was a little stream of consciousness-esque wasn't it?

I finished Bridget Jones's Diary. My favorite parts were the fact that Hugh Grant and Colin Firth were both mentioned in the book. I was, of course, picturing Daniel as Hugh and Mark as Colin. (Much ♥ for Colin) For the most part, I enjoyed how the movie flowed much better, but the book ending was just delicious! It also was a really easy read. I have had like no time this week to read and have really only read during my lunch (30 minutes) or my 15 minute breaks which usually end up with about 8-6 minutes of reading time. So you could easily fit it into a busy schedule if you wanted.

I think next I'm going to reread The Joy Luck Club. I haven't read that since maybe junior year of high school if not the first year after graduation. I can't remember exactly.

I want to get to a few tags before I go to work so I need to stop updating now. XD Curse of the never having enough time in the morning syndrome.

ETA: Ok so I read drabbles instead of tagging. I will be late if I do either so tagging back probably after lunch.

ETA2: No excuse for not mentioning this in my original post. It's 9-11. The 7 year anniversary of it. We had some local bikers ride for funds for it. I was sleeping when it happened. I heard it on the radio and thought in my half asleep state it was a joke. I wanted it to be a joke. Thankfully my brother was not flying at the time, something that I thought was very odd. Because I was a conspiracy theorist. His time assigned to the local Marine Corps recruiter was extended at the last minute. It seemed all suspicious at the time.
