So I went to the allergy and asthma specialist today. I really liked my doctor. He was much better than my family doctor. He really took the time to talk to me and explain things to me. He loaded me UP on meds though.

I took the breath test. I'm a pretty shallow breather having lived with asthma for 12 years now. I have just done what I needed to do to get by. I'd gone to the doctor a few years ago, well maybe 7 years ago now, to see about getting on some kind of medication to control my asthma. I was having some trouble with a few asthma attacks. Nothing terribly serious that I was completely unable to breathe. Just extreme difficulty breathing especially when I got emotional. Well I ended up sick from all of the meds and I just decided not to mess with my general doc anymore. So my asthma hasn't really gotten better over the years. And now when pollen season rolls around, I'm usually sick for an entire month. Firstly with sinus and allergies and then with taking 10 times longer to get over the sinus and allergies because of my asthma. And spending a lot of time coughing and being unable to breathe. This past month has been like that. So I decided it was time to try some preventative measures again. And thus... the allergy and asthma specialist. Like I said, I really liked him.

Well today I got to take an allergy test. That's where they put 72 samples of allergens on your back and see how you react. I'm allergic to maple pollen. Then they do about 12 more on each arm. On my right arm, they did dust mites. That was around 11 am this morning. It is now almost 2 am and my arm is still red, swollen, and sore from the application. So we're going to say that I am highly allergic to dust mites. It's scary to think that my lungs have the same reaction as my arm. It explains why I sometimes feel feverish after vacuuming and definitely underlines a need to wear a face mask from here on. I also bought some dust mite covers for my pillows. And I will get something for the mattress tomorrow. Also lots more laundry time for the sheets. I definitely do not wash them often enough.

And my breathing test. Well it showed that I have moderate asthma. Which is good to know, I guess. I'm glad that all of my wheezing and breathing problems were not in my head. But I'm also disappointed that I'm not 100% healthy. Ah well. It also turns out that left untreated, I could have caused serious damage to my lungs. I honestly had no idea. So here's to prevention.

I think Stargate Atlantis needs to resolve the last 3 or 4 episodes of the season with time travel to undo what has happened. That's just my opinion, but I'm sticking with it.

Heroes was awesome. Matt didn't like it. He wanted it to be bigger. I wasn't expecting much at all. Actually I was expecting no answers to any questions and a huge cliffhanger. I liked that they wrapped up Volume 1 and moved on to Volume 2 for the cliffhanger. It leaves me much less disgruntled. :D And I'm already disgruntled by CSI: Miami.

CSI was awesome. I can see why they liked it. I'm not really a Vegas fan. My favorite character is Brass and he started out as a real jerk on the show. And Doc Robbins because he's got a groovy last name. But if GSR can blossom, it helps me hold out hope for DuCaine. Not that I could really give up on DuCaine. DuCaine is just too awesome.
