Moby and Public Enemy Are Damn Right

Awesome lyrics y'all.

I'm loving that Green Day has a new song too: American Idiot. I think I've moved past their sound, but glad they've made a political song. Being American punks and all.

Although Morrissey's America Is Not the World is probably one of my favorites. Very good song. Highly recommended, etc. I'd link you to it, but he hasn't made it into a video and his website is only a snippet. I'm pretty sure I've posted the lyrics here previously, but the website also has lyrics there.

New Rascal Flatts video too. I love those guys. They've got a very nice sound. It's optimistic and happy and nostalgic at the same time. Good stuff those guys. Evan Rosier liked to listen to them for his Maeve...OOC of course.

The new Alanis Morissette album is another one that I enjoyed. It's also got that optimistic tone to it. I feel like I've grown with Alanis. She always seems to be the same place that I am or I feel like I'm in the same place she is when I hear her music. Maybe not as intense since her anger was pretty real in her first album and then she seemed to get pretty spiritual, but I recognize her emotions. Excuses is probably my favorite song off of the new album, So-Called Chaos. And I highly recommend that you check out her new video for Eight Easy Steps! It revisits all of her previous videos and I thought that was a pretty clever idea. I'm loving her new look too. You go girl!

As for what's in my car, I've been a little short on cash with the lack of job thing so nothing new. I've been revisiting my old Smashing Pumpkin days. Love those guys. I'm finally getting to the point where I can even appreciate their pure rock songs, but the slower songs will always be my favorite. Also listening to my Best of Morrissey album. It's one of those CDs where every song is a winner and I love it.

Apparently there are four different versions of Edward Munch's The Scream. The one stolen in 1994 is a different version from the one stolen this weekend.

Bob Dole says that John Kerry's Purple Hearts are undeserved because they are superficial wounds. As opposed to say...Kerry's opponents wounds from Vietnam which are shockingly non-existent! I do believe that thirty years later is not the time to decide whether or not the requirements for a Purple Heart are superficial or not. Should we go through the DMV and question everyone who has a purple heart liscense plate to see if they have superficial wounds? No, of course not! This, after all, isn't about the American people or the issues at hand. It's about Bush beating his war decorated opponent. (John Kerry's website needs to stop reading mind and emailing me every time I'm thinking about him, it freaks me out! Oh, ok. He's harrassing me to sign this petition. I don't think it's really that credible, but I signed it anyway. Feel free to watch the ad and sign it if you feel so inclined.) Apparently Bob Dole stated in '88 that his purple heart was for superficial wounds. How strange! I highly recommend going to that site and checking out the smear that Bush did on his fellow party member, John McCain. I <3 John McCain.

The papers are going apeshit over this SBV (Swift Boats Vet) controversy. It wasn't a big when the ads came out, but now that Kerry has responded it's really important. So important that they must appear to be impartial and represent the facts and let the reader decide who is lying. I'm not really sure that is prudent, but I guess the papers have to make money. Which apparently is a problem due to the rising costs of paper and printing so I'm sorry if your favorite section, The Comics, is shrinking. I talked to my brother online yesterday and filled him in on the latest election news. Apparently he's doesn't get to read the news. Doesn't that sound great? Awesome way to keep your soldiers in line and to make sure that the entire military force has no clue how their president is trying to screw them over and ensures a whole bunch of votes, doesn't it? Charming indeed. He said it wasn't cool what was going on. But I won't get to talk to him about that when he's in town next. He's bringing four Marines. I hope one of them, at least, isn't a crazy insane Republican. I'm getting tired of holding my tongue so as not to be rude. I figure they want to have a good time, not get into an argument with their friend's sister.

I spent my Saturday at Sydney's house. We had very interesting dinner conversation. I was trying to be very nice to his family, but their facts were off. We discussed a great many things...well I should say that I listened and stared at my food while they discussed. One of the topics were making fun of people who idolize their candidates. Candidates, his dad says, he wouldn't invite into his house without checking the silverware after they'd left. I'm sorry, but call me a zealot! When my candidate is campaigning with slogans such as "Hope is on the Way" and "Bring It On," you're going to see me extremely excited to be rid of the lying asshole we have in office right now. I'm sure that I'll calm down and return to being a normal person and that I will start questioning Kerry. But now is not the time for that. Now he's my man so I'm going to back him until he beats the guy that is not my man. It's all about appearance to other voters and I want my confidence in this fellow to show. I have faith in the Johns, vote with me. We also discussed the new labor law. Ain't that awesome? No one is going to have overtime. Unless you work at McDonald's. So all of the high school kids can have overtime, but the single moms who have moved just up the ladder slightly are totally screwed! Ain't life grand? We also talked about how Bush got his MBA through Harvard. I didn't touch that one, guys. Or bother to say that he went to school at the same place as my candidate. We also talked about the terrorists and how their attack on New York and Washington DC was only about large scale terrorism. His dad said that they'll wise up one day and figure out that they can do terrorism a lot cheaper with a pick up truck and that after they do that, the rednecks will come out and stand on the streets with their shot guns and not let people drive down the road. I don't know if he'd fallen asleep during Fahrenheit 9-11 or if he just doesn't read the newspaper, but those attacks were all about hitting our financial and intelligence hearts. It isn't about mass terror. Kind of weird how the terrorists have actually played pretty fair so far. There hasn't been any sort of small scale, random attacks. No suicide bombing zealots. It's a good thing this administration has people who worked up and confused that they actually think the terrorists could strike anyone. Have you seen real terrorists? The Irish Republican Army anyone? These terrorists have targets and reasons for their targets: take out American finance, take out American intelligence groups, take out Spanish railways, destroy the embassies. And yet, we believe they might appear anywhere because we're easier to control that way, aren't we? So crazy how it works out! Anyway I got off topic there. I didn't step up to the plate on any of these topics because I was the guest and his dad intimidates me. Or maybe I intimidate myself. I need to work on developping social skills for those kinds of situations because I'm usually quite negative about that and it doesn't work so well when you're trying to help someone save face. The best part is that they're supposed to be flaming Democrats. I hope they don't go luke-warm on me.

This morning at my interview, I saw a lady who recognized me from Thursday's job fair. Nice lady. We struck up a conversation. Apparently she knows someone who knows the president. I couldn't really understand everything she was saying. She also knows the mayor of Knoxville and has an aunt in politics. I thought that was great! Until she starts talking about the president. I hadn't had her pegged as being a Republican which made conversation awkward. I really need to figure out a way to be socially gracefully and yet to say "Hey, I'm in the opposing political party." Femi-nazi I am not. The interview went well as I've finally learned to speak highly of myself. The name of game is get yourself a job and that is not accomplished by being modest. I can keep my morals and ethics while still speaking highly of myself in that capacity. The woman who interviewed me, Annette, was the product specialist supervisor for customer service so we connected on the whole talking to irate customers thing. Hopefully I answered all of her questions well and she has a feel for my skills. I'm sure that she does.

Well my mom just called to sound all depressed in the phone and ask me if we got any mail because tomorrow is my stepdad's birthday and yesterday was hers. So now I'm all annoyed because I hate it when she gets that tone and when she gets depressed. The problem is that I can't take my emotions out on her, but she can take hers out on me. That's the relationship that we have going on and so I get to be supportive. Which is why I'm usually hiding out in my room. I can keep my own moods in here. But she just called and I need to check the mail and get to my cleaning and then once finished cleaning, I can update my roleplaying games.

Today is fire and she burns!
