I'm really enjoying this song. It's soooooo... how I used to be, how I wish I were sometimes, how I will be again. It's just easy going, nostalgic without being overly angsty, moving forward while remembering the past. It's September and now October. It's fall. It's time for changes. I've written it before and I'll write it again, it's time for my "punk" phase. Time for the nostalgia for a summer I don't remember, for an end to one phase of my life, to moving forward toward my least favorite season with the hopeful yearning and promise of spring again. Looking toward the things I do enjoy about winter. The hope of snow, the cold crisp of the air, the holiday seasons and time spent with family. I look forward to mellowing from this year's whirlwind of events. I never saw most of it coming, but what a gift!
In less aspiring and inspiring words, I saw Serenity. I wasn't going to watch Firefly at all. Firefly being the show that the movie is based upon. But I'm really glad that I did. If I hadn't, I would have thought some scenes were trite and too contrived and predictable. Instead I saw the movie as just the very next step in the series. I really enjoyed the show. I really enjoyed the movie. And yet, I don't want to see a subsequent series or sequel. Maybe I'll change my mind, but I fear the dynamic that I loved about the show has been lost. Then again, CSI: Miami could just be truly wonderful again. Only time will tell.
Twenty years has gone so fast. Wake me up when September ends.
