I'm learning to let go
Thursday, May 26th, 2005 02:17 pmI have this tendency to take the reins and head off in a direction. It's how I play in WoW when I get bored. If someone else isn't leading, I'm likely to run off and lead myself. I am one of the sheep that the shepherd would have broken the leg of. Especially if the shepherd said "Rest here," and I had a burst of energy. Off I'd go looking for hungry wolves to eat my brains.
Patience is definitely a lesson I am supposed to learn. But my primary lesson is to let go. To stop trying to lead and let someone else more experienced take the wheel. Be that person my coach, my boyfriend, my pastor, or my savior. And the patience comes in because I need to be patient while doing that. I need to have patience in letting go.
In other news, unrelated to US Cellular, we watched Gattaca last night. Pretty good movie, started off with a burst and then meandered in the middle and ended pretty well. I think it would have been better to have seen it in the theatre. I would have had 2 hours to set aside for this movie, instead of sitting at home using all of my time between getting home from work and going to bed watching the movie. I got impatient at the meandering part. Still though a good movie. Maybe we could try going to bed early and getting up early to watch movies? Don't know how likely that is to happen.
Time to get started at work and just let go. Just breathe.
