Happy Easter! Thank God for new beginnings!
Sunday, March 27th, 2005 09:06 pmI haven't updated in a while. What's been going on? First of all, for those of you on my mailing list. I'm hoping to do away with that. It was great for when I was in training and trying to do a lot of things at once, but it shouldn't have become the crutch it has become giving me an excuse not to keep in touch with friends and family. That doesn't mean stop checking your email though. I'm hoping to go more personal. Of course that's going to be more time consuming than what I was previously doing so we'll see. I don't want to set the expectation that I will, but I wanted to start the accountability on at least trying. I haven't been trying and I need to try. I have very few good friends and I really shouldn't let laziness tear those good ones away from me. So hold me accountable, guys. I need to start writing more.
So I've been sick for the past week! A whole week of being sick. I got sick last Friday, but tried work on Monday. That didn't go well so I spent the rest of the week being home sick. Used all of my sick time too so if I'm sick again, it will probably be a verbal warning or something. But I'm not going to worry about that.
I hope everyone had a great Easter. Mine was better than it has been in quite a long, long time. I was standing outside of Wal-Mart, waiting for my mom to bring the car around since it was raining and some kid walks up to my sister and asks if he had her last name right. And if he had her first name right. And it turns out that he was friends with my brother, Chris. Those kids are starting to be able to articulate their feelings now. I guess they are 15 and 16 now. Apparently they remember him as always being nice to everyone. Glad they remember that. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels like we lost a treasure. Good to know I'm not the only one who remembers him.
I've been spending a great deal of time talking to friends lately and it's been great! I got into an conversation with my dad concerning Terry Shiavo. He's a Republican, last I checked I was a Democrat (but can you believe I'm starting to question those beliefs?!) and he says she should be allowed to die and I say she should be allowed to be taken care of by her parents.
So here's an update!

PS NO! Star Trek: Enterprise was the one with Scott Bakula as the captain! Now I want it to live on so I can watch! BOOOO!
