Speed Racer is totally on my mind. However, no one is a fan of this movie/show. More people should have gone to see it! I wish I'd seen it in Imax just because it was seriously that much fun. I'd join the fandom if I weren't 100% certain it was full of nothing. I still may give it a try. Seriously I think no one saw this movie.
We started Star Trek: Enterprise. I have enjoyed the five episodes we have seen so far. They have all seemed to fit right in with the period. Vulcan speciesism is almost humorous. My favorite part was Zephrain Cochrane's speech in which he says "To go boldly." Whereas Picard is known for being grammatically incorrect for saying "To boldly go." I liked how they changed it like that, just a little. It almost felt like they changed it to see if you were paying attention. Robert Picardo, The Doctor from Voyager, says "If Picard can baldly go, why not Picardo?"

I enjoyed the first couple seasons of Enterprise quite a bit. The tension between T'Pol and Trip was hilarious, and the show touches on some very interesting ethical dilemmas. (One of my favorite things about sci-fi is its ability to imagine situations that are not currently possible, and then attempt to apply ethical ideas to it. It stretches the boundaries of what ethics can comprehend and deal with.) However, I didn't like the last half of the series at all. It jumped the shark at the very beginning of the third season, IMO, and never recovered. But you'll be the final judge for yourself. :)

Keep you posted about jumping the shark. I doubt I will think it did. Star Trek series exist outside of being able to jump the shark for me. Otherwise, they'd never make it out of some of their harrowing adventures. My favorite series remains Voyager. It was the most interesting show with the most advanced technology set in the most interesting situation.
I was really expecting to like Trip a lot more than I do. I find him immature and annoying. Which is perfect for the period, but annoying all the same. Oddly, I find myself liking T'Pol. And Archer. I also expected Archer to be more of a womanizer since he was Kirk's hero. Or Flox could be my favorite. It seems I may be partial to the doctors. I think I liked all of the doctors except for Crusher. She reminded me of someone I knew/know.

Did you ever watch Firefly?

I did watch Firefly. My husband and I watched the whole series right before the movie came out--which was totally worth doing. Is there a Speed Racer/Firefly connection? Oooo!

I am a Speed Racer fan too....(guiltily admitting it...)

Firefly was awesome. It's too bad they didn't continue it. Who doesn't like cowboy space movies?
