basildestiny: (Tyrael)
So I got a Blizzard icon. It's not from WotLK or even WoW. Though there are creatures very similar to this guy in the Death Knight area. This is Tyrael, the Arch Angel, from Diablo 2 and 3. He was just too cool to pass up.

DK is now 75. We just finished the UC quest which was totally the coolest thing ever!!! I was crit-hitting for 11-17K. It was so delicious. Plus I laid down my AoE right at the end before Jaina stopped the brawl and that was totally cool. My screen filled up with damage. YES!

I'm sick of Matt's priest's rest XP btw. DIAF!

State of the Pups
WoW has eaten my brain. Last month it was lack of inspiration, then it came back liek whoa, but then WoW said "Y0, wazzup? Miss me, fo'?" I despise end of the month posting, but I may be doing some of that. If notifs allow.

Zack quit the IPD suddenly and unexpectedly. I didn't see that one coming. It's totally canon and makes sense. He's not even bored like he was when he first arrived. Of course things have evolved from that day. Cloud was always gone and freaked out by him. Aeris was chasing whatever tickled her fancy and he found having a conversation was 10 times more difficult than it had been in the past. Now he's got roomie Cloud and things sorted with Aeris. And somewhere in the background, Yuffie may one day black mail him.

Hiro ... More on him later!

Pacey is Pacey. Joey is on the island. HOORAY! I need to go back to that EP and see if there's a tag waiting for which I didn't receive a notif. He'll be getting his item soonish maybe. I like that he developed a thing for Polly, but then they kind of went their own ways once they left the Compound Crash Room. It's more angst for him. So he's right on track, but ... as loathe as I am to say it, I need to post with him more. He needs to network and I need to rein him in from time to time.

Future: I need to make reqs which I may not this month. That would push a new pup off to Q2. That's fine. I wasn't going to bring anyone for a while. Having said that, I am inspired to bring someone other than Annie.

I need to sit down and work out a TR tagging plan. As it is, I have no time for TR in the evening anymore. So I need to make space during the day for it. I do not want to give it up, I just have to find a space for it.

Now to make mashed potatoes and head off to the in-law's.

basildestiny: (Wolfy Cloud)
I took some screenshots, but I need to actually make an icon.

More important though is why is it every time I think I'll just log on real quick to get something done, THEY ARE DOING AN UPDATE?!?!? And why is that I get these urges every TUESDAY?! I only had a few minutes so I figured I'd just hop on, finish a quest for Matt and sort through my gear (that is overflowing my bank now!), but alas, not happening.

PS Netflix on the Xbox rules! Of course, I just got it working on my laptop. Figures.
basildestiny: (Wolfy Cloud)
I'm addicted to Talk Radio. I have an addictive personality. I have a tendency to really get into something and then get sick of it after a bit. We'll see how things go.

LOL Rush. He totally just took my phrase! Jerk. XD

I feel bad for Dems that were like "I'm not voting for Hilary." Oh well. You're getting her anyway. Her and her husband. You've got to wonder if that wasn't part of the deal, but then she did say some pretty harsh things to Barrack. (Oh and I have to use Barrack because I have heard Obama so much lately the word has lost its meaning. You know when you hear or say a word so many times that it starts to sound weird? Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.) They were very critical statements which makes it really weird that he wanted her.

Of course, as some have already heard, it's not surprising given how many Clinton White Housers have been tapped for the Obama White House. He's starting to look like a talking head with the change campaign phrase. So far, it's looking like change back. We'll see, of course.

So the CEOs of the Big Three Automakers are going to carpool together to their next congressional meeting. I totally have images of a little car and three execs crammed in. That is totally not how it will be, but the image is lawlarious.

I was also going to make a comment about fiscal spending and responsibility, but whatever. There it is.

Why is it that Americans have such a sense of entitlement? Everyone else has such and such, we need it too.

In more fun news, WoW news, that is, our guild attempted 25 man Naxx last night. I think they got through the 1st wing and then the boss on the 2nd wing. Matt and I are still leveling so we weren't there, but we've been out of the game for nearly a year so we're not looking to steal raid positions.

My DK hit 70 on Saturday and we swamped out his DK for his priest. I am not looking forward to playing my druid. Anyway, his priest had tons of rest XP so he's already into 74, while my DK is 73. Leveling will probably slow now though with our vacation officially ended.

ETA I realized that I really need some EWF Greatest Hits. I would say shame on me for not buying any of these albums before, but I didn't need them in the past. I could just listen to my mom's albums. Sad face.

Hit 70 earlier this evening. About 55% through 70 now. At which point, we'll be swapping out Matt's DK for his priest. That sucks. DKs are awesome!

Did some Christmas shopping after work. My discount is amazing and I got some really great deals!

Ugh, for staying up too late!
basildestiny: (Blue Moonlight)
Or a cold hunger that drives me endlessly. You pick your favorite.

So we rolled Death Knights. We're now about halfway through 64. The goal is 70 by Sunday. At which point, Matt will switch to his main, his priest, and I will continue with the DK which will be my main tank character. Once those two hit 80, we'll be going back to level up with my druid and his DK, with the intention of my druid becoming my healer.

Eventually I'll go back to my 49 hunter and get him all the way up and one day, my warlock and my priest.

I owe a lot of things at TR. Well like 5 tags, but I've got a goal now in WoW that I want to meet before I go to back to work. And Parkman is on the island! Hiro should say hello.

In other news, I've been married three years now. Yay!
basildestiny: (Pacey / Happy)
The past two nights have been a whirl. Friday night, I slightly overcooked a roast. And tried to get back into playing a game I haven't played in 10-12 months. So much has changed for the druid class without much changing at all. Finding mods and the right UI is such a pain. Not to mention that I didn't train after I specced so I was wandering around with level 1 skills--no wonder I was taking like a nub. D:

Last night I was much better. I still didn't have my UI the way I wanted it. I copied someone else's but it seemed to have things that doubled up and other things I just didn't want that I couldn't tell from the UI screenshot. We went to Dalaran and it was amazing! Aerith was there. I said hello. I asked her if she'd seen Cloud lately, but she didn't answer. I wanted to ask her who made her that flower cart, but who knows. That's a much bigger one than Zack remembers building.

My favorite part is the new way you can carry pets and mounts. It's an older feature, but it's my favorite. I also bought a companion pet collar and fetch ball in Dalaran. I wish they had pets you can buy in that pet shop. It seriously is my favorite part of the game.

I need to work on my leatherworking. I also need to go through my inventory. I have three types of gear right now: tanking, cat DPS, and back up healing (from trips through Kara and other places so many times that we were DE-ing perfectly good gear). I also have about 3 sets of resist gear in the bank. That's why I do not miss nor want to pick back up tanking.

TR folks, I owe tag backs from Pacey. And there's a few things I want to tag. My apologies for distractions.

I am now on vacation! It's our anniversary week and we always take the time off.
basildestiny: (Hiro / Silly)

Of course I have to go to bed in less than an hour so not much content exploration.
basildestiny: (Shep Hush Face)
Oh yeah! Bought it anyway! And our friend had two copies of the collector's edition! Woot! What's so lawltastic about that is my dad bought a copy and had been intending on playing the game, but does not have the collector's edition.

I'm installing now. I have to reload the whole game because my hard drive crashed this summer, but what better time. The best part about it is that I sent my husband a scroll of resurrection and got a free month from him renewing his account. Woo!

So time to wait for this download to finish. I'm at 3% 607 MB/6.5 GB.

I'm trying to get all of the guild info added back like ventrillo. And trying to figure out where the laptop fits into all of this. Will I put vent on my laptop or desktop? Will I hook my headset into the laptop or desktop? Such decisions weigh heavy upon me.

Also I get to use my netspeak more. Like L-O-L. And "Let's gank 'em."
basildestiny: (GH Cloud / Jason)
I secretly harbor an intense desire to play this game! With the 10 man instances, we could easily get back into this game and play it as a game should be played--that is casually. The unfortunate and ironic part is that I'd have to convince my husband! We don't really need to play a game that would cost us $150 to get back into playing (because of course we'd have to locate collector's editions and then pay for two accounts again.)

There's always hoping that his friend from work will try to convince him, but if he hasn't tried already ...

Well I should really be leaving for work right now. So peace out.

AT&T Commercials

I don't like AT&T, but I love their commercials. The last line said by the characters are hilarious.

These two are my favorites! )

TV Shows

We caught up with House. It's a little sad to know there aren't anymore. This show is so addictive. Especially for someone like me who has an extreme love of all things Holmes. House, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The Great Mouse Detective.

The Office )
basildestiny: (Bloody Zack)
I got my present today. The funny thing was that I picked it up myself too. I'm so, so, so really, very happy to finally have my own laptop! It took me hours to get everything loaded and all of the settings right, but I think I finally have it. I still have a few games I want to load as in Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am just overjoyed to finally have ITunes up and running. I made the terrible mistake of trying to a) import my library from my desktop and b) get Genius working. Neither of those should be updating while you are trying to do anything else on your computer.

Also I had never realized just how large my desktop monitor was until I stared at this one. Now I'm roving all over trying to find text on that one.

And now for the TR news. I've been struggling with having anything to say in the game. I love my pups, but real life or rather REAL LIFE has been stamping out anything creative I've felt. I'm glad I got my post in before reading my flist because I'm again wiped out and bowled over now. I think though I can say that I'm back.

I know it's expected, but I really don't want to weigh in on the latest commentary about Prop 8. Cut for Length )

Also in the REAL LIFE and marriage column, there's a divorce looming somewhere over there that has me heartbroken. I hate that it is going to affect so many people. Mostly I hate being powerless to stop it. I wish I could do or say something other than what I'm doing. Vagueness.
basildestiny: (Yay!Chakotay)
Yay, yay, yay! I'm really excited. Especially since Matt is going to pick it up tomorrow. I want, I want! Of course I think he's spending way more on me than he should. Also there's no way I can wait another month and a half for my present. Which means I'll get nothing on the actual day. Kind of a letdown if you have nothing to open and there aren't that many presents for anyone else. Guess that means that dogs get lots of little presents just so we have something to open.

It makes me laugh that there is an actor named Michael Weston and that he's on House. And that I like him.

My NaNoWriMo progress is terrible. My TR progress is terrible. I still want to crawl into a hole and hide. Until forever. Boring.

Not the show as in the other meaning. Though the show is adorable.

This is the one I meant the other day, the Fairness Doctrine.

Shire News Network is LOLtastic. Use of the words "breeds enough Eeyores" and a campaign ad for Col Tigh. Don't get me wrong. It's still a satirical, conservative show, but satirical! I love sarcasm and satire and really, really lame puns. Like when my dentist said "We're rooting for you," I laughed.

This is old news, but LOL to Rahmbo! That's a great name. And Josh Lyman is based on him. I'm just waiting to see Ainsley in the White House.

Also did anyone have trick-or-treaters this year? We never get them so that wasn't a surprise. However, my mom didn't have any at all and she usually has one after another. My in-laws didn't have any either and they usually have a few.

I miss those good old shows of the 80s and 90s that came on during TGIF. Step-by-Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs. It's not that these were wonderful shows, it's just the celebration of Friday night tv. Stinking X-Files--that comment being ironic because I was an X-Phile.

So Wednesday I outed myself as being a right-wing conservative. (Not that this was a surprise for some of you.) My amiable attitude makes me want to crawl back into a hole and hide because I truly hate offending people and I really want folks to like me. However, I'm moving on, learning and growing and pushing forward.

I'm out of time for now, but later I might mention this call I heard the other day listening to the radio show, Stand To Reason. It was very interesting.

Everyone have a great Friday!

So I've spent the past two days making this chicken and dumplings. I started on Tuesday by cooking the chicken, legs and thighs, then pulling the meat off. Very tedious. Then the water was cut off. I added some vegetables and then a few dumplings, but most of my water evaporated so I had to turn it off. Day two I added the rest of my dumplings, but sadly at some point of reheating, everything on the bottom of the pot burned.

I only got one bowl of my amazingly delicious soup.

So the dogs got a new delicious item on their menu. At least, they enjoyed it. They all ate it quickly whereas they usually eat 2/3 of their food and then meander around and guard it from each other for a bit. Always good when they just eat it all. Less work for me in that I don't have to pick up their bowls ten minutes after putting them down.

ETA Mint Chocolate Cookie MilkQuake from Krystal's is wonderful! Pumpkin Pie is also pretty good.
basildestiny: (Yay!Chakotay)
Doesn't that just make your spine tingle with excitement? )

Our water was out in the neighborhood on Tuesday. I was making chicken dumplings and I think I might have ruined it because of the lack of water. I'm very sad.

I shared my early voting experience in this post.

This album was sitting on my desk in a pile of other CDs I need to put away. This is the first song on the album. It's a great traveling song.

My sister called and we chatted for a bit. That was nice. She convinced me to do NaNoWriMo this year.

I caught up with a friend from high school who I has missed at the reunion. As a result of some news from that conversation, I've reached out to some other friends. It's so fascinating to see my personal growth over the years. To find out the things I've become aware of. You know 12 years ago, friendships were a natural and important part of my life. Now they are very difficult to manage and maintain. There just isn't enough time in the day to visit with people it would seem. And now I had to make time. We only make time for things that important to us and having relationships hasn't been one of those things. Fascinating!

I'm cooking chicken and dumplings. Just the chicken is cooking at the moment. I've got to go cook some breakfast now too. I put in for a crazy shift at work. Friday and Monday will be 12.5 hour days. Saturday at 6.5 hour day. It's a 30 hour week and it's a crazy length, but I figure it's best to get the time out of the way. Besides, if you know you're going to be there all day, you just relax and let your mind deal with being there. It seems to go faster that way. But I'll need to get into the habit of making precooked meals or easy to cook meals, especially for Friday and Monday.

I also took Chakotay out yesterday for some training. We went to PetSmart. He did the Bambi on ice thing when we talked in the front door. He was pretty good though. He needs work still, but it wasn't that bad. I bought him a frisbee and then we went to the dog park. He immediately picked up the frisbee throw. That's been a lifelong dream of mine--to have a dog that catches a frisbee. I'd read all sorts of ways to train the dog to go for the frisbee. So it was funny that Chakotay immediately figured out what I wanted. He even managed to catch a few tosses mid-air! And as usual, there was a kid in the park who wanted to toss it for him as well. This kid was awesome though. Chakotay didn't like this one pug. I think he was trying to play with it, but he has a dominant sort of play that isn't a wanted behavoir. After a few skirmishes, I put him back on the leash. I should have brought the longer lead so I could correct him, but I know for next time. This kid, though, comes straight up to us. A big german shepherd on leash usually equals people giving him a wide berth. Not this kid. He asked if the dog was ok and immediately launches into what I would call guy play with the dog. That is rough house petting including give him the big ol' thunderous pat on the side. He was completely unworried about the dog. And as a result, Chakotay was immediately relaxed and went into submission. Now of course, I don't recommend everyone do this to any dog that worries them. It was only because I was standing there and I knew how Chakotay would react that I let the kid pet him. But still it said a lot for that kid and I was impressed.

Now off to finish dinner!
basildestiny: (Default)
I'm so out of sync now. I don't want to do anything. My body is ready to just hibernate. I can't find any energy to do things.

And it's nearly 11 pm according to my internal clock, but it's only 9:21 pm according to the actual clock.

Grah! Must get motivated to at least pick up the living room before hubby gets home.

Oh lol to those. A total of four hours wasted today because of it. Whoops!

Plus lots of awkward and feelings. Yuck.

I was going to take my dog to PetSmart (which is a 30 minute drive) and then clean my house. Or the reverse order, but now I've spent too much time on the computer.

Matt comes home in about 3 hours. I think. I just texted him to get clarification on that. Anyway, he won an award for being really awesome at work. His associates gave him a perfect performance rating! He worked really, really hard this year because he wanted to win that award this year. I'm so proud of him for having his hard work pay off. I want to do something awesome for him when he gets home like take him out for dinner and have the house immaculate.

Me and my failing at goals. Oh well. I have a new mood theme and ringtones so ha! Accomplished = me after all.

Heroes by the way is set in the same comic book style it's always used. But it reminded me why I get bored with comics. There's always something else going on and unfortunately sometimes your favorite character just isn't in this month's issue. Or gets hit in the head with a shovel and turns out to be a complete and total idiot, just like you always suspected.
