It's almost Friday!
Thursday, December 15th, 2005 03:04 pmHow did that happen?
I had something from yesterday's journal that I wanted to comment on, but I forget now. Sigh.
I was at Chick-Fil-A today getting my lunch. I ordered some food and a sweet tea. The drive in person says something about sweet tea and then went silent. I thought she said she was adding the sweet tea, but after 10 seconds of silence I began to doubt my original assumption. Chick-Fil-A sometimes asks if you want lemon in your tea. I started to think that was what she'd said. So I ventured to ask "I'm sorry, what did you say?" Well she comes back with an attitude and starts talking really slowly as though I was just slow.
You know how they say hindsight is 20/20. Well I really wish I had said "Are you getting an attitude with me because I couldn't understand what you?" I really would have liked to have given her a lecture. And I think that's fair. People should ask me if I get an attitude with them too. And people do ask me that. It's only fair and it keeps my ego in check. I'm not the only one in the world. And not everyone is like me. Thank God for that too!
I remember what I was going to correct. I've been saying I want to be an apologetic, but the correct term is apologist. Doh!
Google definition of apologist: a person who argues to defend or justify some policy or institution
And I don't mean that I'm sorry!
