TV Shows

We caught up with House. It's a little sad to know there aren't anymore. This show is so addictive. Especially for someone like me who has an extreme love of all things Holmes. House, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The Great Mouse Detective.

Love this show. Really do. It's so pretty for starters. It reminds me of Life. Or it's like the side of Life in the whole Law & Order scheme of things.

Also Katie Holmes is supposed to be on it this season. That makes Pacey a happy boy.

And Eli's best friend is The Shredder.

TV and Annoyances

I'm annoyed because something important to be was destroyed due to carelessness. It's not even a big deal that it was destroyed. I can get over it. It's the fact that I'd explained the importance of the item and that explanation was ignored.

There's no replacing it either.

In other news, we started watching 24. I didn't think I would like it. It's such a gimmick show. Hey I've got an idea! We'll show 24 one hours on the worst day of some guy's life and there will be action every hour! But it's addictive. It helps that there are a lot of familiar faces. Mrs Sisko #2, Jonas Blaine, That West Wing Secret Service Agent who was also on The Unit, random bad guy from CSI: Miami.

Of course that means that my Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The OC and Gossip Girl will not be watched. Maybe one day.

[ profile] bzzinglikeneon declared the song of the day to be Aha's Take on Me. This reminded me of the cover on the Baseketball soundtrack by Reel Big Fish. This reminded me of the High School music meme that went around that I said I'd do, but never had time to do.

The funny thing about that is next weekend is the big 10 year reunion. We're going because I still live in the same town. Seems silly to pass on the reunion when I live here, right? Right.

All of that to say: Here, have some music I liked in High School. Today's theme is 90s SKA. The best was when my friend would ska dance. It never failed to make me LOL.

This video is hilarious.

This song gets stuck in my head. And here they showcase all the genres of music in the 90s!

Reel Big Fish's Say Ten As Bill Compton said in True Blood, puns used to be the highest form of humor. This one has always been my favorite from the Turn the Radio Off album. Nothing against vegetarians, it's just a funny song. (And just in case he talks too fast for ya, have some lyrics.)

In other news, I forgot to give my Heroes review!

The Best Episode of the Season )

So we're still watching The Unit. We're into Season 3 and the mystery guy we've been trying to find for the past three episodes? Well he's none other than Walter Bishop. Quite funny really. I was expecting him to ask for some root beer.

Someone please bring Walter to the island. Please oh please.

I need to be careful what I wish for, right?

Cool Breeze, Snake Doc, Dirt Diver. You guessed it. We've watching the Unit.

I love this show. It's an indulgence. And I keep expecting Dennis Haysbert to say "You're in good hands with Allstate."

As I said before, it's a character driven show. But there's also enough plot and action to keep you busy. My biggest complaint about it is that it often leaves plots wide open by the end of the episode and follows up one, two or three episodes later.

I'd love to bring Colonel Tom Ryan as a temp pup. A little bit of doppelganger for the T-1000 and a little bit of Col Sumner? for Shep. I'd have to come up with a plot for him and talk to the affected muns and he's not a loud voice by any means, but it's a thought.

Just started Knight Rider. First impressions a) the senator from Xmen! b) incompetent bad guys FTL! Let's man handle a really old man when we need passwords from him. Idiots. Small Spoiler )

Apparently we're watching the pilot and THE HOFF!

Oh and True Blood? I'm being unpopular with my opinion, but Mick St John and Josef in Moonlight were more interesting. Nothing against Sookie thus far. But it's more like a porn show than a vampire movie. It's not even the vampire sexiness, but just pr0n. I think I'll skip it.

I actually have four days off this week! I tried to sleep in, but I wasn't really getting any good sleep and eventually it was just too painful to stay in bed any longer.

We bought a floor lamp for the living room yesterday. It's one of those touch sensor lamps and only cost $25. I count that as a great deal!

We also spent $60 on toys for our dogs. I like my pets, but I never considered myself one of those people. Honestly it was a good investment. The dogs, namely the German Shepherd, have been tearing the house apart when we are not here so this should be a good distraction. Oh and while we saw this fella. I said that he looked like a Corgi (Cardigan corgi)/Jack Russell Terrier mix. My sweet husband said that he didn't look like Corgi. When we got closer to the rescue people, I asked them what mix he was. Of course I was right. Matt said he should have known better than to argue with me about dog breeds. To which, I completely agree. He usually counts on me to name the breeds in a mix. Yogi is really cute, but thankfully he is already in rescue and we have enough dogs as it is.

Of course all of this dog talk has me looking at rescue groups and YouTube videos. Our next dog is supposed to be a rescued Collie. The funny thing about that is the lady that sits across from me at work also does volunteer work and helps run the local Collie Rescue group! But look at videos has made me really want two German Shepherds. I think that may be the first dog I get when we have a farm. If it's a female, her name will be Teyla. If I get a male, he will probably be all Black and named Zack. Indeed.

I have sufficiently managed to waste a good amount of time now on the internet. Isn't that awesome?

TV Shows
I should mention this because we've been playing catch up a little.

Fringe - I really like this show. Joshua Jackson is awesome as Peter Bishop. The sarcasm and smugness is wonderful. I'm not so happy with the plot twist they've given him, but it was expected. Walter Bishop is just a blast. He's so funny. And I love that they have a character named Astrid!

Good show. I love the pacing. I love the X-Files theme without the X-Files cheesiness.

The Unit - Just started watching this last night. I've seen the show randomly on CBS and wasn't impressed with the coloring of the show. I know that's a silly reason to throw you off a show, but that's how it was. Now that I've watched half of season 1 all the way through, I understand why it has the awkward coloring. Certain scenes are like that to give you the impression they are out in the field. Or it's a flashback.

I'm not so impressed by Robert Patrick's character flaw, but otherwise I like him. It's a very character driven show. Molly Blaine is definitely one of my favorite characters.

Dexter - Wasn't very impressed by the season premiere. Too many explicit scenes, plz just FTB on those, kthx. Jimmy Smits was looking particularly Hispanic. I thought they did a great job with the makeup or maybe it was lack of makeup? I don't know exactly. He just usually doesn't look that ethnic. Probably the trouble with being an actor, sometimes you just have to look American. I just felt kind of Meh about it.

The Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles - It's been very suspenseful. I honestly can't find much to say about the show. Matt likes it so we watch it. It has action and some suspense, but I just don't like the premise of the show. I wouldn't watch it if he didn't enjoy it.

Future Pups

The dancing in this one completely disturbs me.

Al is going to love the clothing box on Tabula Rasa. I already envision EPs in which he will have something hideous on. Like horribly mismatched Hawaiian T-shirts. I also feel a desire to inflict my love of a certain soap opera on him.

"Sam! You have to check this out. I popped some popcorn."

Heroes. It was exactly as it had been described to me.

Spoiler-ish )

BTW Peter Bishop from Fringe? Totally tempted.

ETA: OMG So getting this game if for no other reason than to find all of the familiar faces. Everyone in that game is getting a nickname. Totally getting a nickname.

ETA2: How sad is it that I just found my way to the Advent Children web site and was making sad faces at Zack's character page? I mean really! Back to watching my soaps now.
2.2: Oh Spinelli. You are so annoying and yet so adorable! I have a feeling that I'm going to end up watching all of this show instead of just the 5-7 minutes a day.

Watched Psych last night. It was so funny. I loved the sister act.

We've been watching Kitchen Nightmares with Gordan Ramsay. I really usually only like the ones when he yells like a fool at people. It makes me feel better. That's not nice.

BNL are so cool. I love their live bits. Unfortunately, I never saw them live. That makes me sad.

I LOVE my new phone. Have I mentioned that? It makes tagging so easy. Only Zack's been really ... meh lately. I need to work on the wiki. Yes, that was random.

If I had a million dollars, I'd be RICH!
