DING 80!!

basildestiny: (Tyrael)
I finally hit 80 today with my DK.

It was right after our Alliance Leaders Guild Raid. We all got Black Bear Mounts for free from Thrall for taking down all four of those suckas. Woot! Horde has cooler leaders. XD

Friday, I think it was, our guild got server first Naxx clear! Woot! We were, of course, still grinding. And we'll be turning around and doing it again later.

In the meantime, we'll be doing instance farming with our friends.

This is good news for TR. I can finally catch up!

So I got a Blizzard icon. It's not from WotLK or even WoW. Though there are creatures very similar to this guy in the Death Knight area. This is Tyrael, the Arch Angel, from Diablo 2 and 3. He was just too cool to pass up.

DK is now 75. We just finished the UC quest which was totally the coolest thing ever!!! I was crit-hitting for 11-17K. It was so delicious. Plus I laid down my AoE right at the end before Jaina stopped the brawl and that was totally cool. My screen filled up with damage. YES!

I'm sick of Matt's priest's rest XP btw. DIAF!

State of the Pups
WoW has eaten my brain. Last month it was lack of inspiration, then it came back liek whoa, but then WoW said "Y0, wazzup? Miss me, fo'?" I despise end of the month posting, but I may be doing some of that. If notifs allow.

Zack quit the IPD suddenly and unexpectedly. I didn't see that one coming. It's totally canon and makes sense. He's not even bored like he was when he first arrived. Of course things have evolved from that day. Cloud was always gone and freaked out by him. Aeris was chasing whatever tickled her fancy and he found having a conversation was 10 times more difficult than it had been in the past. Now he's got roomie Cloud and things sorted with Aeris. And somewhere in the background, Yuffie may one day black mail him.

Hiro ... More on him later!

Pacey is Pacey. Joey is on the island. HOORAY! I need to go back to that EP and see if there's a tag waiting for which I didn't receive a notif. He'll be getting his item soonish maybe. I like that he developed a thing for Polly, but then they kind of went their own ways once they left the Compound Crash Room. It's more angst for him. So he's right on track, but ... as loathe as I am to say it, I need to post with him more. He needs to network and I need to rein him in from time to time.

Future: I need to make reqs which I may not this month. That would push a new pup off to Q2. That's fine. I wasn't going to bring anyone for a while. Having said that, I am inspired to bring someone other than Annie.

I need to sit down and work out a TR tagging plan. As it is, I have no time for TR in the evening anymore. So I need to make space during the day for it. I do not want to give it up, I just have to find a space for it.

Now to make mashed potatoes and head off to the in-law's.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
basildestiny: (Blue Moonlight)
Or a cold hunger that drives me endlessly. You pick your favorite.

So we rolled Death Knights. We're now about halfway through 64. The goal is 70 by Sunday. At which point, Matt will switch to his main, his priest, and I will continue with the DK which will be my main tank character. Once those two hit 80, we'll be going back to level up with my druid and his DK, with the intention of my druid becoming my healer.

Eventually I'll go back to my 49 hunter and get him all the way up and one day, my warlock and my priest.

I owe a lot of things at TR. Well like 5 tags, but I've got a goal now in WoW that I want to meet before I go to back to work. And Parkman is on the island! Hiro should say hello.

In other news, I've been married three years now. Yay!
basildestiny: (Pacey / Happy)
The past two nights have been a whirl. Friday night, I slightly overcooked a roast. And tried to get back into playing a game I haven't played in 10-12 months. So much has changed for the druid class without much changing at all. Finding mods and the right UI is such a pain. Not to mention that I didn't train after I specced so I was wandering around with level 1 skills--no wonder I was taking like a nub. D:

Last night I was much better. I still didn't have my UI the way I wanted it. I copied someone else's but it seemed to have things that doubled up and other things I just didn't want that I couldn't tell from the UI screenshot. We went to Dalaran and it was amazing! Aerith was there. I said hello. I asked her if she'd seen Cloud lately, but she didn't answer. I wanted to ask her who made her that flower cart, but who knows. That's a much bigger one than Zack remembers building.

My favorite part is the new way you can carry pets and mounts. It's an older feature, but it's my favorite. I also bought a companion pet collar and fetch ball in Dalaran. I wish they had pets you can buy in that pet shop. It seriously is my favorite part of the game.

I need to work on my leatherworking. I also need to go through my inventory. I have three types of gear right now: tanking, cat DPS, and back up healing (from trips through Kara and other places so many times that we were DE-ing perfectly good gear). I also have about 3 sets of resist gear in the bank. That's why I do not miss nor want to pick back up tanking.

TR folks, I owe tag backs from Pacey. And there's a few things I want to tag. My apologies for distractions.

I am now on vacation! It's our anniversary week and we always take the time off.
basildestiny: (Bloody Zack)
I got my present today. The funny thing was that I picked it up myself too. I'm so, so, so really, very happy to finally have my own laptop! It took me hours to get everything loaded and all of the settings right, but I think I finally have it. I still have a few games I want to load as in Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am just overjoyed to finally have ITunes up and running. I made the terrible mistake of trying to a) import my library from my desktop and b) get Genius working. Neither of those should be updating while you are trying to do anything else on your computer.

Also I had never realized just how large my desktop monitor was until I stared at this one. Now I'm roving all over trying to find text on that one.

And now for the TR news. I've been struggling with having anything to say in the game. I love my pups, but real life or rather REAL LIFE has been stamping out anything creative I've felt. I'm glad I got my post in before reading my flist because I'm again wiped out and bowled over now. I think though I can say that I'm back.

I know it's expected, but I really don't want to weigh in on the latest commentary about Prop 8. Cut for Length )

Also in the REAL LIFE and marriage column, there's a divorce looming somewhere over there that has me heartbroken. I hate that it is going to affect so many people. Mostly I hate being powerless to stop it. I wish I could do or say something other than what I'm doing. Vagueness.

QotD

basildestiny: (Steve Burton)
The LJ QotD is funny. And only in a completely geeky, TR kind of way. We don't have a Jon Stewart. XD

Obama wasn't as funny. Probably because he doesn't have angry, white man syndrome to overcome. He also wasn't as endearing, but that's ok. My favorite parts were when he knew enough about Superman to quote his story.

"Contrary to what you've heard, I wasn't born in a manager. I was born on Krypton. My father, Jor-El sent me."
"I may suffer from being too awesome."

I liked McCain's self deprecating. Probably because I like self-deprecating types better. Yes, Pacey is #1 compared to Zack at #2 because Pacey is self-deprecating and Zack is a smug and full of himself. And Hiro is an idiot who will get us all killed. At least he's stopped going into the past. Except for that one time which hasn't happened, but I predict will.

TR relatedly, going to a football game tonight. That means my tags will be even slower than they have been lately. Also Zack is sick, but recovering. He doesn't want to go to the ball, but he may end up there because it'll be good for him. Pacey will probably go because it's Pacey. We'll see about Hiro. At some point, he needs to accidentally get drunk around Adam. That may be more conducive for conversation.

And I am off tomorrow! YAY!

So we're still watching The Unit. We're into Season 3 and the mystery guy we've been trying to find for the past three episodes? Well he's none other than Walter Bishop. Quite funny really. I was expecting him to ask for some root beer.

Someone please bring Walter to the island. Please oh please.

I need to be careful what I wish for, right?

Fired Up

Cool Breeze, Snake Doc, Dirt Diver. You guessed it. We've watching the Unit.

I love this show. It's an indulgence. And I keep expecting Dennis Haysbert to say "You're in good hands with Allstate."

As I said before, it's a character driven show. But there's also enough plot and action to keep you busy. My biggest complaint about it is that it often leaves plots wide open by the end of the episode and follows up one, two or three episodes later.

I'd love to bring Colonel Tom Ryan as a temp pup. A little bit of doppelganger for the T-1000 and a little bit of Col Sumner? for Shep. I'd have to come up with a plot for him and talk to the affected muns and he's not a loud voice by any means, but it's a thought.

***

Just started Knight Rider. First impressions a) the senator from Xmen! b) incompetent bad guys FTL! Let's man handle a really old man when we need passwords from him. Idiots. Small Spoiler )

Apparently we're watching the pilot and THE HOFF!

***

Oh and True Blood? I'm being unpopular with my opinion, but Mick St John and Josef in Moonlight were more interesting. Nothing against Sookie thus far. But it's more like a porn show than a vampire movie. It's not even the vampire sexiness, but just pr0n. I think I'll skip it.

Future Pups

The dancing in this one completely disturbs me.

Al is going to love the clothing box on Tabula Rasa. I already envision EPs in which he will have something hideous on. Like horribly mismatched Hawaiian T-shirts. I also feel a desire to inflict my love of a certain soap opera on him.

"Sam! You have to check this out. I popped some popcorn."

Heroes. It was exactly as it had been described to me.

Spoiler-ish )

BTW Peter Bishop from Fringe? Totally tempted.

Forget that RP meme that everyone and their uncle from TR is doing. I just started RPing on LJ. Previous to that it was on message boards and GJ.

And now for something completely different...

The Ministry of Silly Walks

It's not fair that a bunch of prison inmates can dance better than I can!

To make it worse, a 10 year old can dance to the song better than I can! Of course, he gets double points for being just so gosh darn adorable!!! )

The Future Pups Section

Everyone loves a musical! If they don't, they are either lying )

I really can't wait for this one! But I've had no time to even start the app. )

This song is so wonderful. It really makes me want to play him. )

And because Coraline was watching Robin Hood, last week or so, I found this. My favorite Robin Hood mixed with a song from the funniest Robin Hood. )

In another recent (TR) meme, we were challenged to find one song the represented our pups.

This song gets me into a Hiro mood. I love the name of the group and the song. My mom used to listen to this group all the time and this was one of my favorites.

Zack on the other hand is really, really difficult. I considering All These Things That I've Done by the Killers. But as you can see, the song is much better suited to someone else. )

I like When You Were Young by the Killers much better. It fits Zack since everyone on the island who knew him, knew him they were young. And when he was young, the hurricane of Shin-Ra and their experiments started churning. It landed when he was still young (16). The whole beautiful boy speaks of the Aeris drama. When You Were Young )

I love this one )

I also love this one, but Zack's story isn't just a love story. )

... Still adding to this with more Zack songs as they come. Much thanks to anyone who plows through all of this.

Forget it. This song is the song. I'd like something with more substance maybe, but this song is him. Also it's sung by Lucas Grabeel and if I ever bring an HSM character, I will be Ryan. He had great fashion sense. Go the Distance. Although I keep seeing Danny Devito's character from Hercules in my head now. )

Terrible Drabbles! This new game meme is cracking me up. I have about half a dozen ideas that I do not have the time to write at the moment.

[livejournal.com profile] zomgrhiYou must put Cloud in. And McKay.

Maybe this weekend ... or next Monday, I'll put up the Songs from the Year You Graduated Meme. I'm working through Saturday. Sunday we are probably taking the dogs over to our friends' house to play with their two German Shepherds. Hopefully I'll have a day off, but I'm worried I'll be tempted by OT generated by our latest Sale.

I was happy today by the latest catalog I received because my name was shared with other catalogs by my work. LL Bean! I have been meaning to sign up for their catalog. I wish my employee discount applied to them. I mentioned that I always wanted one of those LL Bean backpacks with my initials on it. Matt said I should get one, but I only wanted it at school. Of course, he said that I will be going back to school so whenever that happens (ie when our debt is paid off) I'll be getting one of those backpacks. YES!

I'm watching Survivorman. I think I get him now. I like Bear, Man vs Wild, because he doesn't take his situation lying down. He gets proactive and moves which isn't necessarily the best thing if you go with the idea that it's best to stay put and wait to be rescued. Still I like it better. Les, Survivorman, just tries to stay in some place really inhospitable for a set time frame, seven days usually.

Watched Star Wars: Clone Wars. I had no idea that some people were Voice Actor soundalikes. I had a clue for some of them, but seriously sounded like Ewan and Hayden. Oddly, I think Samuel L sounded like someone else. Also what's the deal with no Cam Clarke? I cry.

Matt just came in and said that I listen to the most random things. That's the idea. Besides he just listens to Christmas music. Nothing wrong that, it's just a little narrow.

I have not played much this week. My pups needed some time to settle into their new homes. And sort through ... issues. I did enjoy the heck out of PotF this month though.

I work tomorrow. I don't really want to work tomorrow, but I need to get over that. I really need to learn some discipline. I'm like a crazed, emotional and hormonal thing. I'm a little sick of myself honestly. So time to set some goals and start attaining instead of doing whatever.

This message brought to you by Steve Burton's Puppy Dog Eyes. Imagine he's pouting in the rest of the picture. Because he probably is.

And the color 'Every Day is Like Sunday' by Morrissey. Because I am very susceptible to suggestion.

I really shouldn't find this so funny. But the fact that one of my pups is being offered a place to live because of the trauma my other pup went through is really funny. I think neither Hiro nor Zack would agree with me (and hey! A sentence in which I got to use neither/nor!).

This morning I ate a breakfast bar with 3 kinds of fish in it! Anchovy, Tilapia and something else I forget. It wasn't so bad, but I think that's a little desperate for protein. It doesn't sound delicious either. Why not just eat the fish whole rather than some bits of the mixed with something else? These were free from my father-in-law who didn't want to eat his diet food anymore. Matt couldn't argue with free food and has been bringing it to work. -_- I say.

I need to catch up on my soaps! I only watched Tuesday's Jason GH clips.

I caught up on tags today. Which means I now must go clean the house like woah and will get no time to play my game until later tonight when Matt gets home.

This last tag from Hiro was a blast to write. Yet I find it so wrong that I was listening to Aerith's theme from Advent Children while writing it. Also, yes, he totally quoted Professor Xavier from Xmen the movie. It seemed appropriate.

It almost makes me want to play Magneto. He was totally my favorite bad guy from Xmen. He wasn't evil just damaged. And I loved him in Age of Apocalypse. Part of that was definitely because of the pain he inflicted on Gambit. Ian McKellen's Magneto so was perfect too. Maybe I'll put him way down on my queue. I'm already lined up through Q2 of next year! And I have a misguided bad guy already as well.

Alright. I'm putting all of this up for now. Must. Go. CLEAN!

Watched Psych last night. It was so funny. I loved the sister act.

We've been watching Kitchen Nightmares with Gordan Ramsay. I really usually only like the ones when he yells like a fool at people. It makes me feel better. That's not nice.

BNL are so cool. I love their live bits. Unfortunately, I never saw them live. That makes me sad.

I LOVE my new phone. Have I mentioned that? It makes tagging so easy. Only Zack's been really ... meh lately. I need to work on the wiki. Yes, that was random.

If I had a million dollars, I'd be RICH!

Forget Luke Wilson. He's out of the club. Unless he doesn't say anything. He's been replaced with RDJ. Which has been true for a while, I'm just making it official. I laughed so hard at the video. Really. Embarrassed. Myself.

I'm thinking it's time for a HSM/HSM2 rewatch. I know. Totally lame. But I am not above watching totally lame things as long as they make me happy. One day, there may be a singing teenager on the island. *evil laughter*

ETA: TR Final Fantasy Characters as ...
Care Bears. I joked about Zack being a Care Bear earlier this week. I've put a little thought to it and have found bears for everyone else.

Cloud - Grumpy Bear. If there were an Emo Bear, he'd be that one instead. Oh, in case you missed this great toy from the 80s (that was brought back recently), Grumpy is the one with rainclouds on his tummy, who is followed by a raincloud on occasion and is always grumpy.
Aeris - Love-A-Lot Bear (from the wiki) is a pretty and perky bear who helps spread love and help it along wherever she goes. She is pink and her tummy symbol is two intertwined hearts.
Zack - I had joked he'd be Cheer Bear, but she's a she. He's closer to Tenderheart Bear. Especially since I can see Tenderheart making tough decisions like dying for the other bears. Thankfully that doesn't happen cuz I would have been a sad child. He was my favorite. Yes, because I like hero characters. XD
Yuffie - Funshine Bear. My other favorite bear! (from the wiki) Loves to play and tell jokes all the time, but sometimes forgets that there are times in life you must be serious. He is yellow with a smiling sun on his tummy. Funshine was originally a female Care Bear until 2002. Not exactly on the mark for Yuffie, but she's YELLOW!

Now I feel like watching the movie again. I think I only have it on VHS, but I might have bought on DVD.

basildestiny: (Ebony & Ivory)
So much going on today, but I'm having a lazy day which is bad. So I'm posting this and then getting some things done around the house. I blame that crack game.

- Today there's a lovely meme. It is filled with gleeful kudos-ness and I'm too busy tagging in that to return proper game tags. (And Maile, if you don't put your pup in cuz she's new, I'll understand. But my kudos to you is that I am still so squeeing that you have joined the mayhem! You rule.)

- I sent in an app last night. I should be nervous about it or at least a little anxious, but I'm not. Too busy planning and scheming. Like planning and scheming for my next pup. I wanted to bring Gus in for Shawn funtimes, but that novelty has worn off and I don't think I'll be bringing him this year at all. I'd still love to bring Jason Morgan from General Hospital for the LOL, but then I'd have to start really watching soap operas. I'm toying with the idea of bringing someone from HSM/HSM2. Singing characters are awesome, but I don't have the background so I'm undecided. I also want to bring a villain. As it stands, if I get this pup approved, I'll have two of the same characters.

And it's going to be tough not to play the two together. Zack could teach the new one a lot. He could help accomplish a lot of the reasons I'm bringing mystery pup #2 to the island, but that's cheating. Kind of. They really are so alike and I would totally have Zack tag him if someone else were playing him. It'll just be a matter of playing it cool. And any way if they do talk, I do enough tags in a month that it wouldn't be a matter of getting reqs.

- Buying some songs on Itunes. It's August so I get to have my monthly 13 again! I bought the Advent Children and Crisis Core soundtracks using June and July's song money. A great investment and yet I still haven't put them on the Ipod (because my case doesn't line up properly which prevents the CD-Rom/DVD-Rom tray from opening).

Any way, I had a list of songs that I wanted from back in May. This included four songs by the Strokes. Four songs by one band seems a little excessive, but I like every song that I picked. They are just so catchy. The Strokes are made of musical genius. Or at least musical addictiveness.

Also I feel I should download Phantom Planet's California. I had it a while back as ringtone and it's just a shame I haven't purchased it yet. As a matter of fact, buying it now. I liked it before I knew of the O.C and I had it as my ringtone back when I had a crush on Matt, but he was my supervisor so I couldn't say anything.

I've been listening to country music lately. I love the down home, simple life sound of it. I was big into country the last half of the 90s. I live in East Tennessee so you can direct those looks of doom elsewhere. And there really can never be enough steel guitar in a song. It's like cowbell. I have a tendency to listen to certain genres of music for a while and then move to another when I get tired of hearing the same songs over and over. My constant is Christian Contemporary. I just swapped to Country this week. The two prior to that it was Songs from the 80s. I love the 80s Flashback Weekend. And I discovered an 80s station locally that plays the Top 40s from this week in the 80s. It was awesome hearing Casey Casem again.

Just in case anyone is interested. These are my downloads for the month so far:

Breaking Benjamin - Forget It (This is my villain pup's theme song, I've decided. I could listen to it over and over in a loop.)
Phantom Planet - California
Leeland - Opposite Way
Paul Alan - To Bring You Back
Andy Gullahorn - That Guy
The Strokes - Reptilia
Carolina Rain - American Radio
The Strokes - The End Has No End
The Strokes - Hard to Explain
Mark Wills - Nineteen Somethin'

- Almost finished with Deep Space Nine. I don't know what we'll watch next. I want to watch all of The Mighty Boosh, but we'll see. We could always move on to Star Trek: The Next Generation. I've never watched it chronologically. Or we could do a rewatch of Voyager. There's Psych, but I think my husband will go crazy if he doesn't get a little bit of Sci-Fi at night.

- We started another weight loss competition with his parents. I've got a wedding to lose for not to mention health reasons. And they were losing for health also so we figured why not make it competitive. Thus we are going to work out at the gym tonight. I've been looking forward to working out. It's a little too easy not to be active. So treadmill and elliptical, here I come. I really should use the pool and the hot tub too, but I doubt I'll feel up for bathing suit.

I should make updates more often so I'm not cramming two weeks into one entry.

- And I almost posted this without writing about the whole reason for this entry! I'm getting a smart phone!!! I just got my ROKR in February for Valentine's Day, but the Motorola Q is going on sale to employees on Friday. Matt was going to get one because he's been wanting one all year, but we haven't had the $400 something to put down on it. (Employees get a $200 discount voucher, but he used it on my phone as my Valentine's present. Otherwise they pay full price for the phones. Yes, cell phones really are that expensive, the companies just work the cost of them into your two year service agreement. It's easier to invest $400 into someone when you can count on getting at least $50 out of them for the next 24 months. That's $1200 for those keeping score.)

So a Smart Phone means I can tag from my phone!! The unlimited internet service is going to be about $25 for me and $15 for him, but his service is free and mine is $15 so we are still getting a great deal.

Watching Deep Space Nine, this episode involves a traitor and Sisko. The traitor has idolized the play Les Miserables and he calls Sisko 'Javert.' My inner Zack thought this was quite funny. As did my husband who has only heard me randomly ramble on about the latest Zack happenings on the island. I like to run my characterizations by him. He's good at analyzing and also he's a man. Helpful on all fronts.

I just found it funny to hear Javert mentioned. And I really need to read the play and maybe even watch the movie. There's no excuse either since I took French for five years!
